Nice and homie place to stay. The beds were very comfy. The staff was helpful with explaining what there was to do around Oban.

I was the first one to arrive in my room, but was allocated a top bunk, which I thought was unfair, I am nearly seventy.

The staff was the best part about staying at the hostel; they were always accommodating and cheerful. The breakfast was wonderful as well--fair price for excellent quality food.

Vivid colours are adorable and I loved how meticulously clean it was. A nice change from most hostels in the UK. But the main reason why I would strongly recommend going to this place is its amazing atmosphere. The staff are not only friendly, but thanks to them Oban is now one of my favourite places in Scotland. When they cooked traditional Scottish dinner one evening, they even invited us to join them. Lovely time and such gestures is something money just can't buy. Thanks guys! xxx

The standard of cleanliness was very high. The staff were friendly and attentive. In fact, Brent was such a lovely host (and fabulous cook) that I want to poach him for a venture I'm thinking of starting in Dunoon. I will come back and use this hostel again, even if it's only to hang with the guys again. ✌🏼️❤️☀️

The free tea and coffee and hot choc was great, and the decor and bean bags beside the fire made it so comfortable and homey. The staff were fantastic and I know i will be back to stay again.

It's a bit of a walk from the train/bus/ferry stations/terminal but Oban is not a huge town. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is great. Definitely a must-stay. Very clean and good value. Breakfast available for minimal cost! (2 pounds for a filling breakfast). Plenty of showers and toilets. Clean, airy rooms.

I really liked this hostel. The room are clean, the beds super comfy. The common room is big and you can use the kitchen. Milk, tea, and chocolate are included in the price - and you can help yourself. The staff is very kind and ready to help. I'd definitely recommend it.

All the staff were friendly and helpful (special mention for Ruthy). Great to be able to get laundry done and for a really good price. Only negative was the mattress (and I know it wasn't just my bed by talking to other travellers). The foam appears to have been compressed so that it now does little in the way of cushioning. If they were replaced it would be a 10/10 hostel!

Very nice and useful staff. Fantastic kitchen equipment. All day tea, coffee and chocolate. Many, many useful information: what’s on in Oban, where to eat, where is the nearest shop with food and so on. Perfect localization. A little noisy at night because of restaurant in front of the hostel.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but I would still readily recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Oban! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and made me feel very included. I was traveling by myself so it was so nice to have people who watched out for me and were up for a chat.

A fantastic stay at Oban Backpackers. really vibrant funky hostel, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and also the surrounding areas. Brent was fantastic and gave us some excellent advice on where to head to further North to wild camp. We followed his advice and it did not disappoint. Thank you.
