One of the jewels of the main area is the Church of Santa Teresa, is a brilliant piece of Baroque Palermo. Just 100 meters from the seafront promenade, which bears the name of King Umberto, with many bars, ice cream shops and seafood restaurants. Near the eastern side there is a vast and beautiful garden, the Villa Giulia.

When we arrived, the apartment had no water so we were taken to another. It was very "local" which was neat and safe as there were several locked doors to get to our apartment. But the bathroom smelled like pigeons (a coup outside the window), no hot water for 3 days (it was fixed but we were blamed for turning it off! We didn't touch a thing...) and the bed was little more than a cot. I would not stay here again-I'd opt for a regular hotel in Palermo.
