Ocean View Tourist Guest House Reviews

There are obviously places in Negombo and Sri Lanka with better atmosphere and value for money. The name "Ocean View" is misleading, the view is to a road and houses, the ocean is behind. The room clean and air conditioned, but no table in room, a plastic table with chair on the balcony that I had to clean before use. If offered as "deluxe private" they should improve the bathroom. The staff tried to ask twice for more money than agreed in the booking (LKR 3.780): first 5.000, then 3.870.

we stayed for one night only and found the accomodation just what we wanted. The room was clean, good ac and the breakfast was enjoyable.

Nice place , Nice people , Just be sure to get an A/C room because it is very very hot ! Also the bathrooms need a makeover.

We've made a reservation but the guest house was fully occupied at the time we arrived. We were requested to stay in another guest house nearby. VERY disappointing there was NO WIFI. The room was extremely hot (the fan is several meters away from the bed!) until 3 am. No hot water but that's okay given the hot temperatures in Negombo. It was ridiculous that the owner of that guest house wanted more $$ and asked me to communicate with Ocean View Tourist Guest House!!! Why??????? Won't be back.

Very nice people, excellent service booking from Germany without any problems, found everything as described. Used the guesthouse as a starting point for our journey and were very pleased. Thanks for everything Mark!

Convienient for the airport but Negombo is not a great place. Airport pickup was great. Be careful if the manager helps you to book a hotel you may end up paying a bit more than you should!

Nice localization before and after trip on Sri Lanka

It is a very good place to begin or end your vacation.It is close to the airport,the staff is very friendly and helpful,it is clean and it is just a short walk to the beach!We really enjoyed the stay there!Thank you very much!

The most important thing for us as it turned out was that the staff were VERY helpful when we had a problem with our airport bookings. And they didn't hassles us to buy tours etc.. The room was great and the location good.

A great place to stay on arrival or before departure. Its very close to the airport and almost onthebeach which is miles of sand virtually empty whenwe went there. There are trips and excursions to,do,from Negombo and thehotel staff are very helpful when it comes to getting stuff organised. The hotel is a bit on the "basic but clean" side but is very adequate and affordable or a short stay.

Although booked 2 months ahead owner claimed to be full and showed us a room 1 km away which was awful, we insisted he give us our room which he then did. Just as well since the other place above a pool-room, was closed for xmas.

Clean, simple, price good for the value offered

Very friendly staff and great location. Felt safe! It is loud because of the street, but this is something we have seen everywhere in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend it!
