Nice place but a little out of the way for a one night stay. Tickets to the local onsen was a nice touch... not sure how expensive other places are in town but this was double that of ryokan in Nara etc.

Had a nice stay, everything was clean, very quiet, just what I needed after hiking through the hakone pass, the free onsen ticket was a very nice extra and there is a small sento-like bathtub in the ryokan as well. very pleased!

Ohmiya Ryokan was perfect for a single traveller looking to have a traditional Ryokan experience. The dinner and breakfast (worth ordering) were excellent. The Onsen around the corner was very relaxing (Ohmiya gives you a free pass) and the private bath in the Ryokan is pretty good too. One piece of advice, take the bus up from Hakone Yumoto because it is a pretty steep climb on foot. The Ryokan is on the road to Hakone-Machi so it's easy to get from place to place using the bus system.

We needed a place to sleep after enjoying the Hakone. Our staying during week day was great. Not so many guests, no noise so we could slept well - relaxing and we could enjoy more the big shared bathroom with 'pool'. Owner was helpful with information too.

Everything and more than what I hoped a traditional ryokan experience would be like! In a lovely location a few minutes walk from the train station over looking Hakone town. The breakfast is delicious and I assume the dinner would be as well! They have their own small private onsen and shower room, as well as passes for the onsen around the corner which is definitely worth a visit as well. Lovely place and I would stay again!

The staff was very helpful. The food was great especially dinner. I would definitely recommend it. They also give their guests a one-time free voucher to a nearby onsen. That was really great.

We loved this place from the moment we walked in. The man was very welcoming and helpful. The place was exactly what we expected it to be and the photos are very true to what you get. Ohmiya Ryokan is a cute, little place to stay if your looking for an affordable traditional ryokan experience. From Hakone station you can either catch a mini bus from the info centre for 100 Yen or walk 15min (uphill) and with a Hakone free pass it was easily accessible on the bus route to lake and transport.

Wonderful accommodation! Traditional ryokan with traditional rooms, surrounded by incredibly beautiful scenery. The man running the place also provides free passes to lovely onsen nearby, and makes reservations for you at a local restaurant called Karuta which is amazing.

You get a free ticket to the outdoor Onsen (normally 1000yen) when staying here. That made this Ryoken great value.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was home made Japanese style and delicious. We received from the ryokan free tickets for a nice outside onsen. Had truly relaxing time.

A little bit too far from Hakone. You must take the bus for half an hour to be on the sightseeing spot.

very family cosy ryokan! Staff were friendly despite their limited english.

its a traditional ryokan, but a bit worn down. Clean and all, but had this "grandmothers touch". No guests under 60. The owner spoke basic English, enough to communicate. All in all not necessarily the best place for young backpackers, but a fair price for the location

Lovely place, with lots of unexpected extras, free internet access(big plus) Really nice private onsen and possibility to get free tickets to a onsen in the neighbourhood. Like most places in japan, the language was a barrier. Was a wonderful experience to live like a japanese.
