The hostel was quiet and clean. We stayed over a busy weekend (over the Virada Cultural - which is HIGHLY recommended if you like music) in a 10 bunk mixed dorm, but had no issues. Mornings were crowded with only one bathroom for 10 people., but everyone was polite. The downstairs bar was not open. I wanted a beer, but no one could find a key! Location is great, close to the Metro and across the street from major bus lines. Easy access to everything we wanted to do.

Location great, near Oscar Freire. Rooms too small for the amount of beds they have, no room to even open the luggage. Girls at the front desk not helpful at all, when we asked for directions, all the directions they said were wrong and never even tried to check the info online, they were too lazy to provide helpful information.

Everything went just fine, aside the fact that my iPod Touch (32gb, third gen, with a skin from gizmobies - a painting from kandinsky) just desapeared :( I was in the bar, putted it on the docking station for playing some tunes and forgot to take it back from there before going to sleep. Next morning it just wasnt there... Desapeared and nobody in the hostel staff helped me in any sense... They simply did not care. Lame, isnt it? Hope that this message helps with their not so caring attitude.

Reception did not know how to get to the airport apart from Taxi. So, they ordered me a taxi for the next morning. When I checked out, they said they were unable to order the taxi and I should get one off the street.....which would cost more money. Also, at this point they seemed to remember that you can take the subway to the main bus terminal and then a bus to the airport, however that there would now not be enough time.......quite frustrating. Airport information is quite a hostel basic.

-Worst hostel yet -Internet never works... You have to manually reset the router yourself, and then it might work for another 5 minutes before it breaks again -Lockers in the room can be forced open with one hand. 5 of 8 lockers worked in our room. I didn't get a locker for 2 days -Bar ran out of bottled water -Staff doesn't care. -Half of the hostel guests are students from Brazil that are staying for months at a time. Creates a weird atmosphere when someone lives in a dorm for 2 months

Lacked character as a lot of the guests were Brazilian students rather than fellow travellers. Staff weren't very welcoming and rooms felt overcrowded. Not a great location for travellers and definitely lacked buzz.
