Old City Esma Hostel Reviews

We stayed in one of their apartments, which was very large. It was across the street from the main hostel building, but that was no problem at all. Location is perfect. The staff was also great, very helpful and friendly. The reception guy spoke english quite well. He gave us information about the city and taught us some turkish expressions. Breakfast is simple, but great (and authentically turkish).

i COULD NOT IMAGINE STAYING ANYWHERE ELSE. i ACTUALLY BOOKED AN EXTRA 3 NIGHTS. TRUSTWORTHY, CLEAN, AWESOME ACCOMMODATIONS, CENTRAL TO EVERYTHING.... EEEEVERYTHING! IF EVER I RETURN TO ISTANBUL THERE WILL BE NO NEED FOR ME TO LOOK INTO ANY OTHER ESTABLISHMENT. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE STAFF

The hostel is in a fantastic location! So close to many great sites, restaurants, and a tram line. The wi-fi was free and fast. The only issue that I found was that the showers leaked water to the floors... I would stay here again though

Very flexible, helpful, friendly staff. Only the mattresses were poor but for one night okay. Breakfast could be richer but in the end we all were satisfied. Our stay was really really nice!

Awesome hostel! great location..v.clean..great facilities..lovely breakfast. It was on one of the most beautiful streets with the best shopping and restaurants right near the tramvay They offer a great range of activities for tourists:concerts, party , city and bosphorus tours. Reception was open 24hrs, people were all super friendly and nice, beds were perfect (for a hostel), Best area to visit every most important things(blue mosque, hagia sophia, grand bazaar, spice bazaar and sea side.

This hostel is the worst I've experienced before. The staff moved my suitcase and other stuffs without any notice or my permission at my last night in there (I stayed 3 days in there). They didn't call me neither before. OH MY GOD. I was very angry and the staff explained that they made mistake with other reservation, so they couldn't help but move my stuff to give my room to other. Although they explained situation and gave me the free shuttle to airport, but it is not common sense.

Great place to stay. Close to attractions and transport. Bathroom very clean but very popular. Only one per floor and the toilet isn't seperate. Breakfast good but go early to get it. Staff are helpful. Can get a little noisy when it's full with people coming and going (take ear plugs). Highly recommend it though!!!!!

The hostel location is awesome. In the centre if the old city, you can reach by foot all main locations to see during the day. If you want to go out at night you have to walk to the new town on the other side of Bosforo, but it takes up to 30 minutes walking and it's safe also to come back late in the night. Staff is really handsome and I had really great time. Also cleanliness is good. Really suggested, also because is very cheap.
