The location is great. It was warm in the room. We stayed in room for 7 persons with private bathroom/ It was very very dirty. Unfortunately we didn't have a shower, the shower was with sand and hair.

Very weak hot water head in showers - when you take shower in one time with someone in another shower or someone using sink - it happens that you have no water at all! Since it is cold - it is a real disaster! Cold in the rooms, sockets working badly. Untidy appearance of rooms. No towels. No security at all - one key matches the room door and hall front door locks (the key is universal and I guess will match locks of all rooms in the hostel).

Dear Guest, when we were aware of the problem with the heating and pressure of the showers we called maintenance to fix this issue. Unfortunately because of the holiday season we were not able to get him in as promptly as we needed to, our sincere apologies for this. Regarding the keys, security is very important to us which is why we have 24hour reception however the room keys only work for their specified rooms, not any other room. Best of luck for your travels in 2012, Alur Staff

Dear Guest, our sincere apologies with the heat in the showers, it was a problem we had over the holiday period and were not able to fix it during your stay. Out staff check the bathrooms very regularly however unfortunately this was one time we were not able to get there to clean before you needed to use them. Best of luck in your travels for 2012, Alur Staff

Very nice place to stay for a couple of days. Prices are fair and the staff is very friendly. Unlike most of hostels, they give free towels and sheets which is highly appreciated. I really recommend.

The staff at the hostel are amazing, genuinely interesting and fun, they definitely contributed to our overall experience of Tallinn! I like the fact that they have local staff and international staff, it's always great to meet new people. Alur is a great place to stay as it has a really good vibe, the rooms are huge and it's location is amazing! I'd definitely stay at Alur again, was a great experience.

This was a brilliant hostel, great locataion, great atmosphere, but it was the staff that really made there place great. All good enlish speaking andalways all up for a laugh. Because the Hostel is owned by the same people who own most of the other local hostels, they take you on bar crawls to them too, so you get to meet loads of cool people. Tallin is the place to go, and I reckon Alur would be the place to stay. James Lovatt, UK

The 8 bedded room had 7 beds. One of us (group of 8) had to sleep on the floor (matrass). We didn't complain, so the staff couldn't know. Some toilets had no toiletpaper and the lights in the toilet upstairs didn't work.

Apparently the biggest hostel in Tallinn. Few common spaces though, and not many toilets which can be some kind of a problem especially when the place gets crowded. Spatious rooms, too noisy maybe as one could hear the conversations from the street.

(Sorry, I can't speak English well) location is good, staf is not bad. but I don't want to recomend the hostel to my friends. The building is old, so it's difficult to open & close, rock & unrock the room door. I heard noise to someone try to rock or unrock the door many times, all day. They makes big noise. (I was wandering why they were not try to quiet to do?) And when I stay a room, if someone is corridor or stairs, I could heard clearly their voice. They didn't care other guests, so I couldn't s

The cleanliness of the rooms were very poor. Our room on arrival had old food in the beds and on the floors. The floors were very dirty and not very pleasant. The matresses were very thin and unbearable to sleep on. Shower handle was broken for the whole 5 day duration we spent there.

Really good people, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. If only the toilets were better maintained that'd be a great place to stay. AND THE GOD DAMNED VENDING MACHINE! Geezas. You come back from a night out, you long for a drop of water, stand in front of the stupid machine that keeps rejecting your coins, and in the end it fails to acknowledge the fact that you have paid! Oh that did my head in... But apart from horrible toilets and godless drinks machine, tis a good place.

Excellent price, good value for the money. But this is not for travelers who like their comfort. Fellow occupants are quite young, partying type, and very noisy. I can sleep through that, but if you are a finicky sleeper, you may prefer to choose a smaller hostel.
