Only one hour from Cairns, On The Wallaby is a quaint, cozy lodge nestled in the rainforest of the Atherton Tablelands. Clean, comfy and relaxed with a nightly BBQ, self catering kitchen, table tennis, pool table, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, pot belly fireplace, games, puzzles, guitar and didgeridoos. Double ($55), share ($24) and campsites ($10) available.
The hostel is centrally located in the lush rainforest of Tropical North Queensland close to the Crater Lakes and many beautiful waterfalls and other attactions. Fully guided canoe trips, mountain biking tours, free platypus viewing, night canoeing and wildlife spotting is available for all ages. Country Markets are also on the 4th Saturday of each month.

One of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. Completely in character with the area, I instantly felt relaxed when I arrived. Loads of character, super clean and a great welcome from the staff who go out of their way to ensure the guests have a good time. They provide guided canoe trips, visits to spot the platypus and a fabulous Aussie barbecue most evenings which is great value.
