We had a great stay at One World Lodge, the staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere of such a small place. The terrace is lovely, though everyone has to go through one of the rooms to get to it. That room doesn't lock and its safe isn't even attached to anything solid, which you may or may not find a problem. Also, one of the bunk bed's boards broke, waking me up by falling down on me. Scary :-) There's also some mighty big roaches. Overall, cool but unpolished.

What about a new fridge and stove - that was not up to standard.

In Cape Town, the BEST location is Long Street, and this hostel is just right there! Nice character and great staff. Everything went as expected, we really recommend the hostel. It's clean, safe, and comfortable. The ensuite room is really spacious and nice. The shared bathroom one, with the balcony, is great! From the balcony you can see Long Street at it best!

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location, at the end of Long Street close to the bars and restaurants but far enough to get some sleep, is perfect. Big balcony. I would definitely stay again in this hostel and I can more than recommend it.

Stayed here for 7 nights. For 4 nights of our stay there were no other guests. Superb location to enjoy the nightlife on Long Street. Rooms are clean and with own safety deposit box. Shower and toilet are cleaned every day. The fridge is weak, store your drinks in the freezer if you prefer them cold. Matt and Trevor also run the travel agency downstairs and are a great source of information. We booked a daytour to the Cape Peninsula and hired a car through them, excellent! Highly recommended!!!

A great little place at the top of Long Street, close enough to go and have a good night out, but nice and quiet when you've had enough! The public swimming pools are just below so it's great for a morning dip. Best of all are the staff Trevor and Matt who will help you organize any trips you may want to do.

Decent hostel at the end of Long Street. Great location from which to explore the Long Street and Bo-kaap areas. 20 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. The double bed private room was spacious. Weather was quite hot the first few days in Cape Town and the room was also very hot; the provided fan helped make it slightly cooler. Weather on subsequent days/nights were cooler and minimal need for the fan. Right next door to the associated One World Travel Center.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! I will definitely return to One World Lodge! The only criticism I have is that there is no airconditioning and the temperatures are extremely uncomfortable during Summer. However the friendly staff did provide us with fans which helped a little. The fridge is broken and needs to be replaced. We had to constantly take our perishables in and out of the freezer Otherwise a most charming and beautiful hostel!

Highly recommended. At the end of Long Street, close enough to the action but far away enough for a good nights sleep. Close to all amenitites. The hostel is like a mini flat where you can relax and have a drink in the living room, watch a bit of TV, listen to some music. There are only three rooms so not a huge amount of people but there are enough for a single traveller to make friends. Cosy and comfortable. Very helpful staff, would definitely return.

Lovely little place, in a perfect location! Good security, well appointed. The en suite room has less of a view (faces onto a small alley) but is quieter than the other rooms... not that we found noise a problem. The parking at the Shell garage (R35 per day + R35 per night, 100m away) is safe, and the staff there friendly (try phone ahead to book during busy periods - they only have a limited # of bays) I would definitely stay here on my next trip to the Mother City!
