Quite run-down, but clean. Had sea-view, but there is a big street between the sea and the hostel, so it was very loud. Onsen is nice.

Spent four nights there. Excellent stay!! We were mere yards from the beach, and the owner upgraded our room to a double. Fantastic ocean views. Enjoyed Usami beach, as well as trips to neighboring Ito for firework shows and dinners. Minshuku Otsuka had a super convenient location to Usami train station as well. Warm and hospitable family-run inn. We hope to come back and visit in the future!

Very basic accomodation, but clean. The onsen is more of a bathroom than what you would expect from a traditional Japanese onsen. We were all bitten to death by fleas/mosquitoes when we slept here, but not when we stayed anywhere else.

A tradition Ryoken style hostel. Matting on the floors and roll out mattresses. We had a room with great ocean views too. The room are separated by just a thin partition wall so it was slightly noisy. The onsen downstairs was great and roasting hot! There are no communal showers though. Only one outside on the side of the building which is just one for after the beach and cannot be locked. There are showers in the onsens but they may be in use by people relaxing in them. Great staff and location

This place is really good and we stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed the Izu trip. Staff specially (Uncle and Aunty) were very courteous and supportive. Thanks to them for making this trip pleasant.

If you are willing to see some beach life but do not want to go all the way to Okinawa, this is the place to stay. Although the hotel is a bit outdated, it's very near the beach and the staff is nice.

We stayed for four days and it was very nice. There were only us and another family so even though we paid for a 6 tatami room, they gave us a 12 tatami room (the extra space was enjoyable !). Our room faced the ocean so the view was good, but if you are a light sleeper bring some earplugs ! We also recommend the japanese style breakfast (for 1.000Y) which was delicious!
