Great location, near Petra and close to good restaurants. Staff was very helpful. Very old facilities and very dirty. No heat in the winter. We huddled around a space heater and tried to avoid stepping on the toenail clippings on the carpet. Needs serious rennovation. Regardless, if you want a cheap place to stay and only care about trekking around Petra, then it's a fine choice.

The Orient Gate has amazing views down to the hills of Petra, the sunset on the top floor also to be seen from the balcony of certain rooms is fantastic. The hotel is located in the centre of Wadi Musa, the main town of Petras archeological site, which allows access to local restaurants, banks and shops. Mohammed, is very helpful to give any advice and there is free Wifi and internet in the lobby.

Strange place. With a treasure of a place like PETRA nearby this place is perfect to exploit travellers, which they do. The rooms are ok but they just keep adding on cash to everything you purchase even though you have already paid for it. Please check this throughly.

I stayed here for 2nights an it felt like a lifetime! My room was ilke an Icebox, it was so cold and when i asked if the radiator works or not they yeh it does but we only run it on from December to February??? How about u turn it on if your guests are freezing to death, serious i had to sleep with my clothes on including a big jacket! The Hostel had a creepy feel to it an dont even get me started on Saed or whatever his name is, playing with himself speaking to some girl on Skype in reception?

A good value place near to some good cheap eating places. No problems with the cold, I was in T-shirt most of the time. Big, thick blankets available for your bed if required in the wardrobe. About 1km easy downhill walk to the entrance to Petra, staff friendly and helpful. Near to the bus station.

I stayed here for 4 nights and felt right at home. The three men that i dealt with were really freindly and, most importantly to me, respectful. i am a solo female traveller and safety is a huge issue. I felt safe here and was treated so kindly by all the staff. The location is great and visiting Petra for 3 days was incredible. I had a balcony and the view was great! My room was clean and comfortable. The Internet didn't reach my room but there was a nice couch i sat in just outside my room.
