Most of the staff are very friendly and seem to be very knowledgeable about Istanbul. Very clean and cosy hostel, nice rooms and nice view on the roof terrace. I should come during the summer to enjoy the view on the roof terrace.

It was the best hostel I have ever been to! The receptionist, the property, the location, everything was great! The bathrooms were clean. You have one outlet to yourself, one light to yourself.Loved enverything about this place. Trully recommend it for everyone who is visitng Istanbul. Staff is really helpful.

They only want your cash, and you can feel it. A coke is more expensive than at taksim square... You can not put toilet paper in the tolilet. you have to use a garbage bin. the computers which are provided are not up to date. you can hire a uptodate laptop for cash. the family of the staff is always hanging around there.

Get a "paid" receipt if you pay when you check in at this place..I paid 575 TL (235 Euros) in cash. Wisely I asked for a receipt and received one. Four days later the front desk asked me to settle my account and pay up..I HAD TO SHOW THEM MY SIGNED RECEIPT..Imagine if I hadn't had one...they might have tried to force me to pay 234 euros again. Ugh! Also my last night the desk guy thought I had only paid for 5 nights. Breakfast ladies were the best part. Hostel is overpriced for what you get.

You can beat the location. The roof top breakfast was amazing (sun rise)

This is a really great hostel, the location couldn't be better (right next to Aya Sofia), it is clean, the rooms were great and the staff is super-nice. The owner is really friendly, whenever we needed something the staff was there to help us and they even took us out one night and showed us the night life in Istanbul. We would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone.

Stayed here two days and had a wonderful stay. Can't beat the location. The hostel is close to all the main sites, tons of restaurants, and the tram. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but filling. Nice rooftop deck for great views of Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, and the Bosphorus. Overall, I had a great stay.

Fantastic location but so are 50 other hostels. This area is swarming with them, which is good because food and tourist shops thrive on them. Very nice option but I'm sure plenty others are as well.

I stayed at the Orient in 2010 and enjoyed it so much that I went back in 2011. The character had changed a little in that the night club had been added to the top floor. It was extremely noisy the first night there but after a little chiding they toned it down. It would help them a lot if the doors going from the floors into the hallway/stairs had some automatic closers on them. All in all, a great place to which I will return.

The best hostel ever !!!.Super cool location ,clean and friendly staff ...The staff is awesome.They help you about everything and they know how to do fun...It is the best place to stay in Istanbul...You guys are rock....I got a feeling :)

We had a great stay at the Orient Hostel.Clean, comfortable beds, good showers and the breakfast is pretty good.Frendly staff and Staff gives you useful information. 25 EUR Bosphorus Cruise Tour with English Speaking Guide was great.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Istanbul.

the staff isn't very helpfull, and the rooms are really small, but it's fairly clean and well located.

Orient is everything a hostel should be. Stayed at one other in Istanbul, no comparison. Friendly, helpful 24/7 staff. Travel office A+. CLEAN rooms, showers, wc. FUN rooftop cafe with amazing views. Free internet, and cheap laptop rental as well. Very filling free breakfast. Sociable environment, varied travelers, not just party crew. Safe, comfortable, heart of historic district, and a bargain--will return to Istanbul and Orient Hostel!

I walked a bit far to reach Topkapi palace to found out that actually the main entrance of the palace was just a few meters away from the hostel! I you love the night buzz, it's the best place to be.

The hostel is in the best location you could want to visit Istanbul and is always very clean. The terrace is AMAZING, it has a view on Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus. However, they play very loud music all day, which is kind of bothering if you want to take a nap or even if you want to go to sleep early in the evenings. I stayed in the 30 bed room and found that people stayed very much to themselves, people didn't seem very open to meet other guests.

I enjoyed my stay here. Wifi doesn't reach down to where I was staying(6-bed dorm) but that's fine. the rooftop terrace was amazing and had great views. Security could be up'd a little as anyone can just ask for any key. It's a big hostel with lots of rooms and people. Hard to keep track. Easy booking of a shuttles to the airport, which was a major bonus. Breakfast was tasty as well and filling.

Great hostel, staff were friendly and helpful. rooms and bathrooms were always clean. travel agency in hostel very useful. location is perfect close to sites, tram stations, port, bus station. roof top bar excellent view with cheap food & drinks.

The hostel might be a bit difficult to find, but once you start staying there, it's brilliantly located; just away from the city centre's noise, but only 3 - 5 minutes walk away from all the excitement.We had some issues with the net connection but the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Wifi was available, so all was good wih the world again! Very clean! Definitely recommend it.
