Nice, comfortable beds, wel equiped kitchen, friendly and helpfull staff. An hour drive from Yosemite Valley, but worth it: cheap, comfortable, kitchen. Very quiet at night!

The dorm is the livingroom und there is no door to the kitchen. Only one bathroom for more than 10 people. Everyone has to lock the door, or it is open für everybody. They gave me a key to the same locker like my roommates. You can not trust on the staffs word. If you like a little privacy I wouldn´t recommend the dorm. But because everybody is the whole day in the lovely Yosemite, its a place you can stay if you need to travel on low budget. It´s so sad it could be a realy nice hostel.
We had a bit of an unfortunate time - we arrived when noone was there to check us in; a resident said the rooms were generally open and picked one for us (a little lack of security). They'd picked a room that recently had antifreeze sprinklers set off - so had sticky globules everywhere (it turned out we shouldn't have had that room). Despite this - the bathroom was pretty filthy, along with the kitchen and floor. The staff the next day were very apologetic though & gave a good discount.
Looks like a long recovery ahead thanks to the hostel's bed bugs! The manager did help us out eventually, but when we informed them after the first night of bites they said we could only sleep in the infested beds that night. Also not happy being told we were wrong, even though we were covered in bites and even had a photo. Hands and ankles are majorly swollen. Really disappointed, because otherwise this hotel would have been fine.
