Cleanest and most helpful hostel I've found so far. Alessandro on the desk and his wife Julia are knowledgable and so helpful it's as though you are guests in their own home. And Elizabeth works with them in aking sure everything is Perfect Be sure to sign up for the 3 Euro breakfast -- it will make you happy And if you're visiting the trail and other towns be sure to buy at the train station the 10 Euro day pass that covers the train, the hiking trail, and the little bus from the station .

Corniglia is undoubtful the perfect base to wander around Cinque Terre and you can\'t go wrong if you take this friendly hostel, except for one grumpy guy at the reception.

This is a wonderful hostel in a beautiful area. The staff are very accommodating, and the place clean, inexpensive and easy to find. Id recommend it for a weekend in Cinque Terre any day.

This place has a very sterilized feeling to it. Not much atmosphere and has a very detached feeling. It was very clean but not welcoming. Gave you a towel. Lights in the ladies didn't work so I had to shower in the dark. Hard to get to if seeing other towns. Corniglia is on a hill. Nice of them to let us leave our luggage. When we came back for luggage, I asked the guy at the desk if I can use the toilet. I really had to go pee and he said NO. I couldn't believe it. So mean. Not coming back here

Good quiet place away from the crowds. Clean and well maintained dorms. A little bit hard to go to specially since the walking paths from Corneglia to Manarola and Vernazza are closed. Boat service also does not stop here so you're only option is the train for your transport.

THere is a kitchen, but guests/travellers are not allowed to use it. Only staff may use it. The two staff members I dealt with were horrible. This hostel is VERY clean, but very unwelcoming. ASked staff to recommend place for dinner. His answer was simply "No." Also, must leave key to locker with staff, so they have access to your passport, valuables, etc.

Corniglia is the smallest of the 5 terres, located right in the middle and a great place to base out of if you plan on spending a few days in the area. However, it definitely is the smallest and quietest of the towns and not much of a party place. The directions to this hostel were a bit unclear but again, the town is tiny and so it wasn\'t too difficult to find although the entrance is way in the back and on the second floor, which is a little odd. The facilities are pretty typical - we stayed in the

Very Clean. I didn't find it right away, I had to as for directions in the village. I really liked the fact that they had big lockers to store everything in, but I wish that there was more of a hangout area, maybe with couches, and a kitchen.

Was friendly, clean and in perfect location in the middle of Le Cinqueterre right by lots of walking tracks. Would be good if they had a kitchen that guests could use in the evening. Communal breakfast was excellent value for money. Good system with lockers in the dorm.

Wifi is 50c for 30 Mins or 80c for 60 Mins. Cooking is very restricted, the breakfast is 3 euro. No easy chairs only bar stools. The main downside is the male dorn faces the town church clock, about 50 meters away, which chimes through out the night and it repeats two minutes later on the hour which is a historic thing and chines once on the half hour, it is so loud it will wake most people unless you wear ear plugs and most people in the dorn had a problem.

I LOVED this hostel so much that even when the dorm was full I still stayed 3 nights in a private room even though it was out of my budget & as soon as the dorm is free again I'll be back there! Everything is so clean. They have rules & a 1.30am curfew but there is nothing to do in the village after midnight anyway. The staff are great & looked after me really well. Being a girl moving to the Cinque Terre alone it became my home away from home until I find a permanent place.

Very nice (and clean!) facilities and staff. Great views from the rooms. Beds were comfortable, and showers had nice water pressure. Each bed has its own light and electrical outlet, which is always a plus!

Massive mudslides have devastated the area since October 2011. Most of the roads and all of the hiking trails surrounding Corniglia have been destroyed. We had to drive there from La Spezia (even though we were coming from the north). The train is the best way to see Cinque Terra, even if it is a slight inconvenience to leave the car behind. Vernassa was the hardest hit by the floods - the town is almost totally wiped out and rebuilding as of Spring 2012. The hostel itself was great.

Our stay was comfortable, but the fact that we payed a lot to stay there and then had to pay for breakfast and Internet was a bit frustrating. We are students and it's tough to afford travel as it is. I hope Ostello Corniglia will consider this.
