The staff were great. They gave me a map and circled sites to see and even made reservations at the Uffizi for me. Have to be buzzed in as the have cameras and can see who is there. Very safe. Big lockers to store your things. The only downside is the rooms beside the street are very noisy. It is hot so you have the window open and all you can hear is the cars and motorbikes zooming by all night.The staff were great. The staff made our trip. Matteo was super friendly and helpful. He quickly got out a map and circled where all the major attractions were and what was worth seeing. You could tell that he was genuinely interested in your stay in Florence. I would highly recommend Ostello Gallo D'Oro to anyone visiting Florence.The staff made our trip. Great staff, they helped with everything. Breakfast was ok (simple italian breakfast), very clean. Our room was too hot and on a noisy street, so maybe don't go when there are 33ºC. The owners of the Hostel are very friendly and really look after you. Helped me with information even before I arrived. Not a party place, but great if you're looking for peace,quiet and privacy. Good location -- 15 minutes walk to Duomo. The busstop is just in front, a trip to Fiesole (with bus number 7) is highly recommended. The hostel has two parts, the renovated part looks much better but the other one is also ok. Very friendly and helpful staff.Good location -- 15 minutes walk to Duomo.
