Looks very much like an institution, a military barrack or something like that. While it is not filthy it is not really clean either. The biggest problem however is that there is a real shortage of powersockets. That means that if you want your camera, cell phone or anything that requires charging now and then you may want to consider staying somewhere else. Thee are a few extra in the basement but that doesn't really solve the problem. It is also very warm during summer.

Stayed here 5 nights. At first was a little sceptic about this place, then once I got to know some staff and travelers it was good. The dinning table is very large and makes for easy conversation with others. Kitchen is very good with at least 8 stove top burners and two fridges. I liked the rooftop terrace, great for a sunset drink. To get into the building u have to ring the loud doorbell that sounds throughout the whole buidling, feel sorry for front desk person having to get up everytime 4 it

I stayed at Ostinatto on three seperate occasions during my time in Argentina -because I loved it so much! The hostel is the perfect blend of fun and relaxation, not a party hostel with drunken hoards spilling onto the side walk, but also not a stuffy hostel. The layout is funky and modern with an amazing roof top patio on the 5th floor. Staff are helpful, genuine and friendly and there are lots of activities and specials on offer. Clean and bright. Ask for a room with a balcony.

I really enjoyed the week that I spent at Ostinatto. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with great advice about what to visit and where to eat and drink. The bar and the enormous kitchen are great places to meet people and you will quickly get to know most of the other guests. Excellent hostel and excellent location in San Telmo (easily the coolest barrio in Buenos Aires).

Good hostel, we have been there 5 nights the beds are comfortable, the place is near to everything, there's a nice roof and a good place to make new friends. However don't have air condition and the breakfast could be better after sometime didn't have more milk and the worst thing is about alcohol that we can not consume it inside the hostel having to buy at the bar inside the hostel.

Ostinatto is a trendy hostel with great staff and a very decent breaky! The rooms are spacious, the building is beautiful, the showers are hot. We were a group of 5 girls from Australia and had an awesome time. We got great directions from the staff for seeing the city and heading out at night. Would recommend this place highly.

Great clean rooms, all you can eat breakfast, great staff, free spanish, tango and yoga, what more can you say. The hostel is in a perfect position in San Telmo and run by amazing genuine locals who know the city inside out. This is the only place we would stay in BA. We will return!

Great place in San Telmo. Very friendly staff, with its own bar to start the night if you fancy that. I liked specially the fact that they had a terrace at the top.

Awesome old building. Great location in San Telmo. The Kitchen even has seperate bins for rubbish and food scraps. Recycling is not big in South America so it was refreshing to see this. Although who knows if they compost it or what

Very friendly staff and lots to do through the Hostel- like walks, free tango and yoga sessions and a great brekkie! More than just your toast and butter! I would recommend staying here and right in the heart of the action at San Telmo and easy access to other neighbourhoods through busses and trains etc.

Great location, great vibe within hostel, great people. Great overall. Found a yucky stain on my sheets but that was the only negative I could say. Beyond that I highly recommend this hostel to everyone.

Ostinatto is a top class Hostel in Buneos Aires. Very helpful staff from Leo, Saya, Julieta etc.. at reception. To Clinton in the bar. With a great mix of people, for a person travelling on their own this hostel as everything.

They staff were really welcoming to especially Saya! The hostel was in a good location and was relatively secure. It´s pretty clean and you don´t get the ´ick´ factor at all. With regards to fun, it really depends on who you meet however the hostel organises activities for the residents to mingle. We really enjoyed our stay thanks for having us guys!
