One of the best hostels I have stayed in! Walking distance to everything and nice staff!! Recommend to everyone!

This was my first hostel experience ever and it was extremely comforting to walk into what appeared to be somebody's house! Shoes off, kitchen for all, computer access etc. It was very cosy and really close to downtown (~10 minute walk). Despite the warm setting it was almost sombre, nobody talked to each other or socialized a lot (at first I thought this was normal, but other hostels are most definitely not like this). Put simply, its a very nice place to sleep, but don't expect to meet people

Overall, happy. Nice friendly atmosphere. Just one thing though, when changing the sheets for new guests, please wash and replace the mattress protector too, my one could have done with being changed. I liked the power sockets over each bed, that was handy.

Hostel has the potential to be great with interesting character and a fantastic location. There arent enough bathrooms -I waited an hour 1 morning and then the shower I used was mould infested. The staff are all work for comm dont really seem to care too much. They have kind of taken over, laying across sofas, playing music when your trying to watch tv etc. Its a shame because essentially the hostel is nice but it doesnt create a very welcoming atmosphere

The atmosphere was great; cute place, great (free) coffee and awesome batman blanket. Also, the people staying at the hostel were very friendly and talkative. Only thing is that the staff wasn't at the counter all the time so I had to wait for them sometimes. Also, bathrooms are private, which is a big plus... once you managed to get in there. But all in all, I would recommend the place.

A really lovely cozy hostel. It was nice and quiet at night, safe and secure. If I had to nitpick, a breakfast is always very appreciated and also there aren't very many showers but this can't really be helped. The owner wasn't as friendly as we were lead to believe but the cat more than made up for it! Overall, a lovely place to spend a few nights and within walking distance to everything you need to be near to.

I found the hostel to have a nice, chilled out atmosphere, but it was somewhat anti-social due to the amount of people being there for work rather than tourism. The hostel also has an excellent location.

Had a great stay again at ye Olde Inn. Provided what I need....a bed to crash in. It does get hot and muggy in there though!

Handy location, within 10 minute easy walk to the Rideau Canal. Byward Market and pubs within 5min walk. Close to metro supermarket and bottle shops! The commom room is open and ideal for socialising. The dorm rooms are big and the beds are comfortable (some mattresses a little over used) but on a whole very good rooms! Bathrooms are good and although there are only a few on each floor, there never seemed to be a wait to use them. The kitchen is a bit small, but sharing the space its fine 7/10

Enjoyed my stay at this very nice hostel. Had a great chilled out atmosphere (not much of a party hostel) and rooms were very big and spacious.

The staff was helpful and kind, the kitchen and livingroom invited to sit down and feel comfortable! :-)

More of an old fashioned rather than trendy boutique hostel, not a party hostel but more of a chill out hostel. The atmosphere was great and everyone there was cool and great to hang out with. There were other long stayers there which shows it was a popular place to stay. One of the best atmosphere type hostels I have stayed in.

Lovely stay but too short - I wish I could have stayed longer! I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the hostel and the great location. Great value for money; I will definitely stay here next time I am in Ottawa.

It was the 1st time in my hostel-stay experience when you had to rent a towel, it wasn't included in the price O_O

The Hostel has two different buildings and is located in the are of byward market and you can walk to the parliament easily. The wifi connection was pretty good, also in the dorms.
