Not a bad location - walkable to Byward Market and Parliament Hill - most of the major sites anyway. Great staff and beds are pretty comfortable.

Loved staying at OBI, everyone was so nice and friendly. Felt at home right away.

It was the cleanest ostel i've ever been too!

although staff dont provide many travel tips ( I guess the nature of Ottawa itself matters), they are very nice and willing to chat with you to make sure you feel like included. travelers there tends to stay at the common room to chat at night, or even just watch TV, I think the nice staff and comfortable environment do help. Good place for people who want to exchange views with different travelers. one bad is that they dont provide breakfast,

Very friendly and helpful staff. Even though I was only there one night, I thouroughly enjoyed my stay. The cat really makes it feel like a home.

The staff were fantastic and really helpful. One of the staff members was done his shift but still made sure we were sorted and answered all of our questions. The place is literally walking distance to everything so it was just fantastic! Had a great weekend!

oh my god. the bathroom downstairs is aweful. so humid and the wall is falling in pieces. The commun area looked comfy but small. I didn't stay long but really.. I was not sure if it was safe to use the bed. TV in private room great. Room was in the basement where there was a tiny tiny window like 15 inches by 20 inches. weird!! you have to take of your shoes in the hostel.

Good location, very close to the main Rideau Street and Parliament Hill. One of the girls at reception was unfriendly when I dealt with her, but the rest of the staff that I encountered were lovely.

The hostel is located about 5 minutes by foot from the Byward market and all boutiques, restaurants and cafés that go with it. Add another few minutes and you'll be at the Parliament building, Museum of Arts or Rideau mall - it's all quite close. At first glance, we didn't (me and my girlfriend) realize that we had arrived at the hostel as it's basically a couple of wooden houses, but the rooms are tidy and nice and the staff is helpful. A great&affordable place to stay for a city vacation!

This hostel was beautiful on the outside and cozy on the inside. The staff was extremely helpful to me when I was trying to figure out directions and bus schedules. You are given a key to the dorm rooms b/c they are locked 24/7. My only complaint is that the lockers are very small, and they overcharged for computer use ($1.00 for 10 min.) The location was great, right along two parallel streets of all the bars and restaurants and a ten minute walk from the parliament and canal.

Nice place, good location. We stayed there just one night and we didn't have any problems.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ottawa Backpackers Inn. The place was warm, bright and very homely. The location was also fantastic being so close to many tourist attractions. I would defiantly stay there again .

we slept in a private room on the basement, it was very noisy cause of the isolation (indeed it's an old house). there was no breakfast but free tea and coffee. the shared bathroom was very very old and barely clean. you can park your car behind the house for 7,00$ per day. the house is 5-10 minutes located by the city center on foot, and just few minutes by the marche by (restaurants and bars ....)

A very good located hostel to enjoyed By-market and the Parlament's hill. Rooms are big enough and peaple from various horizons very welcome

Great hostel, friendly staff. Good common areas. Location couldnt be better. Ottawa was a surprise on how much fun it was as well.
