Pretty, clean and nice hostel, safety systems not very convencing but at Ilja Grande you don't need to worry about safety issues (if your roommates are trustworthy). You will surely enjoy the island so much that you won't even care where you are staying

16 cmeras and lockers , door closed after 11 ´pm 24 h reception , what else ?

Had a problem with the air con the first night, managed to fix for the second. The staff don´t speak english very well so it´s not possible to ask for advise. But they´re welcoming and cook fantastic meals for 15 real.

just the facts: 1.the Fan and the AC in the room didn't worked 2.No Power outlet to charge your phone in the room (didn't worked as well) 3.Toilet had some problem 4.reduced my stay from 4 nights to 2

The hostel was good but the lady that runs it is mean and grumpy all the time. There is supposed to be a communal kitchen but she wouldn't let me use it cause she cooked dinners you can buy in there and you weren't allowed in. Also not allowed to use the fridge at all either. Not happy with her getting mad at me a three days for wanting to use the "communal" kitchen

Great hostel, lovely staff, the breakfast is HUGE with bread, cheese, ham, cakes, fruit, jam, fresh juice . I recommend the dinner in the evening too. It's not just about the food though, there's also a pool table and large common area great for meeting people. Very good value for money.

The staff was excellent--very kind and helpful. They let us stash our luggage before and after checkout, even letting us take showers before our ferry ride off the island! The only major problem were bugs--there were several dead mosquitoes on everyone's beds. As such, we had to kill them nightly and keep our window closed=hot room.

We had a great time, the hostel is close to everything in this beautiful village!! Try the dinner, when the owner is cooking! If you stick to the rules everyone is very friendly!!

The private room was really nice and had a balcony. Christine the owner was very welcoming and the breakfast was lovely. Would stay again!

Its a great place to stay in all the ways, Good for couple, groups, alone traveller... clean, staff great and the rooms are verryyyy very good.

Alright hostel but nothing special, lots of bugs! Met some nice people there though and it was pretty cheap! Use of the kitchen is really annoying as you can only use it a few hours a day and if the staff are cooking within those hours you can´t use it then either!

the owner are very nice, christina is also cooking for everybody sometimes. very good and cheap dinner! there were a lot of other backpackers you can get in contact with. it was nice to hang out in the living room. it's close to the beach and village center. we stayed in the 6 bed female dorm. i can't really recommend that room, it's was bit smelly and very small. the 4 bed dorms are much better!! make sure you get one of these.

amazing island, really not important where you stay. BUT staff was very nicely, have nothing to complain about :)

Room was cozy, would have loved a tv or the wifi to work in the room, at nights you can hear the waves crashing on the beach! Staff were lovely! Breakfast was good! Overall lovely place to stay!

A charming little hostel. The owner Christina makes you feel at home. Her food is amazing! Make sure you stay around for her dinners. I had a great stay and wished I could have stayed longer. Don't expect the bells and whistles of a fancy hostel but do expect a friendly, homely and charming place to stay. Oh and the caprihina's are fantastic!!

Good Pousada. Cleaning is done everyday. Helpful staff, the owner Cristina speaks English, provides good breakfest and even cooks dinner for 14R$ / person. Be prepared for many insects on the island, come with mosquito nets!

We loved this place. Cristina was lovely and her staff friendly too. Her cooking is not only the best value on the island, that we could see, but also soooo delicious. Place was clean and tidy. Had info available for trips. Although everywhere on the Island does. Would definitely go back if we return to Ilha Grande.
