I've been to plenty of youth hostels and I know they are not the most quiet places, which I don't mind. But here you will have the music from the barnext door until 3am. And there are only three showers for women, and you have nowhere to put your clothes so I'm not quite sure about where you are supposed to dress. The beds are ok, but the rooms are freezing in the winter because the windows are old and you can feel the wind coming in. We all thought the window was open but it wasn't. Bad place.

Great location, good security, decently comfortable beds and not as loud as I expected.

I was in room ten (all female dorm) and couldn't get internet in my room. Also, half the plugs in that room weren't working properly. I didn't have much trouble with the noise. Showers were great. Wish there were hooks in the bathroom for purses.

A charge for using a card to pay (twice - once online to pay the deposit and once when settling the balance ) was a con.

Really great hostel. Not far from the rail way station and oxford city center. Friendly people, free breakfast and clean bathroom!

Generally clean, however no one changed the bed sheets between guests. Only the pillowcases were changed. Great location, and nice facilities.

People check in very late at night. I woke me up several times because of the noise. They could consider putting people who arrive late in a separate room.

I loved my stay at Oxford Backpackers, the staff were friendly and inclusive, the showers were hot and powerful, the beds comfy. Really liked being able to come in from a long day and curl up on the sofa with a film and lovely people.

Because of the "late parties" it was practically impossible to sleep during the night, especially on Saturday. Althought it is expected a hostel to be noisy, the noise in this one is just too much. The 22.30h restriction was disregarded by the people feasting/living there.

Location and cleanliness were great but it was very noisy when I was there. I don't mind people partying but there was too much in the corridors and rooms of the hostel during the nights.

Liked: great location, very friendly staff , big kitchen (but it closes at 11, strange), big showers with hot water, secure codes to enter building Dislike: Not allowed to consume your own alcohol between 6:30 and 11:30 PM, but only from their bar, which was overpriced. No quiet community area, it constantly has loud music playing. Unlocked luggage storage. Pillow stuffed with cottonballs in a bed that costs 21 pounds/night. General: Good for partying crowd, not for sightseeing crowd.

Hostel has a cool set up -- chillin bar off to the side in a cozy common room area (great for meeting people), little shared kitchen for meals, pool table. Equipped with plenty of showers and toilets, kept clean. No real complaints, definitely a solid hostel, would recommend.

Easy to find, right near the train station. The locks on the doors used codes instead of keys, which I actually liked- I didn't have to worry about losing them. Just memorize and go! There was only a bottom sheet and a comforter on my bed. I have some doubts about how often those comforters are washed and I wished I could have had a top sheet.... but it was comfortable nonetheless. The bathrooms were clean and the showers not bad. Pretty decent breakfast in the morning. I'd stay here again!

Stayed at OBH for two nights and had never stayed in a hostel before. The night after we went to London and stayed at Piccadilly Backpackers and we must say that OBH is ten times better. The toilets were quite fresh, the beds for comfortable, towels and breakfast were free and you could keep your valuables in a safety locker. You must always keep in mind that a hostel is not a hotel and w can't really see why pay 20 pounds extra to stay in a hotel when you can stay at Oxford Backpackers.
