Short walk from town and canals. Comfortable lounge area. Rooms a bit crowded.
I had a great stay at Oxford Backpackers. However, it would be nice if someone were on the front desk at all times, because I did have to wait up to ten minutes at some times to speak to a staff member.
Exceptionally clean for a hostel. Situated near the bus station and the town center. Only downside: kitchen closed over night. (What about after pub meals?!)
Great hostel, great hosts, nice location its easy to meet other travelers, its near the city centre, it has its own bar and a couple of pubs and clubs around the corner, free internet, a good kitchen, a comfortable chill out area/ tv- room. It is clean and well organized and the staff is friendly open and nice. Great hostel i would come back to stay every time again. :D
The staff make this place, they where all so helpful and nice. 1 of the staff came took us to a club to get us in for free and I felt safe and happy the whole time =] thank you and will stay there again when we visit oxford next time!

Fortunately we stayed just one night : our food had been stolen in the fridge, the atmoshpere wasn't good, we didn't felt at ease in this hostel. The only positive point : the bed was good.
I have been to a number of hostels across Europe and this was one of the poorer ones I have stayed at. The location is good and the staff were friendly and helpful but cleanliness around the kitchen area was poor, the beds were very small and my partner who is tall was unable to sleep. I would not stay here again.
Nice location in central Oxford, close to many restaurants/bars/pubs and within walking distance of many nice sightseeing opportunities.
This a good location, although it should be said that there is no such thing as a bad location in Oxford. The staff were friendly and helpful but when we rebooked for a second night the person at the desk didn't tell us that it was £15 more expensive to rebook at the desk instead of doing it online. Disappointing. Facilities were good and people seemed to hang out quite a bit in the common room.
sorry that my phone didn t succeed reaching wifi and computers where quiet slow and bugging so i couldn t go on making reservation for further towns.... why isn t there little lamps beside beds in back papers hostel so that people don t have to switch on the light so hardly at night? where can my bottle of water i had put in the below fridge have gone during the night? everything else was absolutely right. bye
The smallest dorm rooms we've had in all of Asia and Europe. Where there are 6 bunks in any other hostel we have been to would have 4. Also seems to be a lot of people living there coming and going at all hours of the night, with no regard to travellers asleep etc. The common room is also quite small,, considering the ammount of people at the hostel.
A fine Hostel, but the only thing that was quite poor was ventilation of the rooms. It was very hot and enclosed, and needed either an ekstra window to open or aircondition.
Staff was really helpful. The atmosphere was a little antisocial, but it's ok. Cleanliness was average. I wouldn't say the place is CLEAN, but it's not disgustingly unbearable either.
While I was staying there another traveler had his laptop stolen, although I don't think he had it locked up even though there were lockers provided. The included breakfast was really good (it had nutella.and biscuits which was quite luxurious) and the free computers were handy
Good hostel for the money. The only problem I had was that there was only one mini fridge for everyone, so if you bought a lot of food to cook for your stay you wouldn't have anywhere to store it.
We had a great time at oxford backpackers. Both the guests and the staff were really friendly and social. Everybody was quiet in the hallway after 10 pm, so if you wanted to, you could get some sleep, but there was always someone to go out with too. The kitchen and common room were good as well, really cheap bar. We would definitely recommend this hostel!
