Hostel overall is great value for money; rooms are large and spaceous, breakfast is fine for a €9 a night dorm room. The only genuine downside is the uselessness of the staff! Ask for good value restaurants, get a MacDonald recommendation. Ask for help booking a tour... Just no. You go to ph hostel hoping for friendly roommates, otherwise you're only going to find an average base from which to visit lisbon. It is at least worth a couple nights, but there are more social hostels in lisbon.

We, a group of 5 girls, liked the hostel. It was easy to find on our first day. And it was only a 10 minute walk away from Bairro Alto. A supermarket is nearby the hostel. The hostel is a bit old and noisy. And there are only 2 little bathrooms with showers for all the guests. But the rest is ok: beds, room, kitchen, breakfast, livingroom, location, staff and the information. We liked it for our stay (4 nights) in Lisbon!

Good food and cozy rooms, but the internet wasn't working.

All was fine but we book three beds in one room and two beds in another and, when we arrived, was another condition, separating one person in another different room. The other facilities was fine.

Definitely one of the nicest, most comfortable beds with really good blankets! Great breakfast, clean, free locks, spacious rooms, and very nice facilities. I was only staying two nights before switching hostels and had to change rooms, but I think I preferred this hostel and would have stayed if not over booked. Just didn't love the atmosphere- didn't meet or really talk to anyone there - a lot of groups.

When you left the hostel, you had to drop off your room keys at the reception, which is a good idea, but they were hanging on a board, so everyone could take another key, if wanted .. (and when the receptionist wasnt there, what happened quite often, when they went to clean etc.) The staff was nice, but sometimes a little helpless .. We had moth in our room ( a lot by the way) which wasnt really nice .. had to kill them by ourselves .. The bathrooms were not very clean and smelled ..

Staff was nice and friendly but I thought their English was poor and sometimes wasn't sure if they understood. So I didn't ask for recommendations. Bathrooms were all good and clean. There is lockers with keys in the room which is good. Only downside is: the doors are really loud to use as they are old style and so are the wooden floors.

Melly does a good job dealing with agro punters. Nice hostel interior. A little far from centre. Power cuts a lot. Clean.

In general, this hostel is good: bathroom is large, clean and showers are good. The kitchen is complete and beds are good. Nevertheless staff doesn't speak portuguese, english or spanish. So we didn't have any support from the hostel. They have also a problem with energy loss when the stove is on. Lockers are small and when we arrived there were no lockers available. Breakfast is good, not surprising.

Power turned off and on constantly. No one answered the bell when we first showed up.
