Loved that on the walk to main street or the beach, could eat fresh mangos along the way! Also saw Howler monkeys on the walk to main street. Too bad we were there during the red tide!

Hostel has a terrific pool with a bar area that could be really nice, but when we visited it was only open on the weekend, and then only until 9:30- we never saw a "party" there. Also, they advertised breakfast, but it wasn't free and was only available Wednesday through Saturday morning. However, the bathroom and rooms were clean, well kept, and fellow hostelers were quiet and friendly. The staff is very knowledgeable/helpful! Great base for the Guancaste region!

This hostel has a lot of potential but it's not being realized yet. The pool is beautiful but no one seemed to be looking after it. I skimmed it a number of times myself, once while one of the managers watched me and did nothing to protest or help. It will be great when they get the liquor license sorted out to have the swim up bar operational. There's no kitchen facilities for guests, although there is a restaurant on site. No lockers.

This is a new hostel under new ownership. The location and pool with swim up bar (if stocked!) are great and it has the potential to be one of the best hostels in the area. The restaurant has only just opened too and I know the management have big ideas for this. I had a very nice relaxing time.

Great pool, fun people, great hammocks, great staff, nice location away from the noise of the downtown area. Would stay here again if I ever came back to Coco.

The hostel has an air of decayed splendour about it which comes from the slightly run down appearance and obviously improvised nature of some of the spaces, that being said there is obviously an ongoing attempt to spruce things up. The pool is magnificent and very relaxing with very attractive open spaces, and the hostel is a nice oasis of calm away from the slightly seedy and very frenetic feel of the beach/town area.

Very bad stay. I had to stay additional day because they did not answer the phone. Dark and dingy indoors. Kitchen is rubbish and too small. Coco is exceptionally touristy and the beach trashy. Skip this place. This hostel is American owned and the hospitality is very low. The pool is nice, that's it. They know nothing about the transport or the things in the area. I next went to a Costa Rican owned hostel in Monte Verde which was amazing.

The \"Backpacker resort\" concept describes exactly what this place is about: a great place to rest with good beds, very clean, a swimming pool, garden and more for backbackers. Excellent value for money, the staff is very friendly and you have meany options to enjoy a nice vacation as a backpacker!

Dear all, for our opinion, a better organisation in the kitchen with hints for using the coocker and more cutlery would be very helpful for making some good breakfirst and food! Thanks & greetings Manuela

This hostel is a hidden gem. The pool is awesome, because you can bring your own music and have a pool party. The room is nice and clean, AC works well, and almost no mosquitoes. But the best was the service, the front desk attendant Rene, was very helpful in every possible way. Thanks guys, we had a blast.

Pacific Palms had a wonderful atmosphere with a very friendly staff. The rooms were very clean and the air-con was a major plus. For the money you can't beat it. The pool was great, clean and had an awesome swim up tiki bar - byob.
