Only stayed very briefly but great location, friendly staff, nice place. Once you've recovered from the stairs, it's a perfect place to stay.

Out of the various countries I've stayed, this is my favorite hostel. The bed and bathroom are clean. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and store food. The ship decorations charmed me, and the crew befriended me. The travelers from all over the world were well-spoken. The common room has chill music and a lively atmosphere. And it's next to Chinatown, North Beach, and SOMA. I definitely look forward to returning, and would recommend the same to any friend.

10's across the board for this hostel. The location is great. Great, laid-back vibe and the staff were awesome and friendly. Really clean and tidy, the showers are hot and the kitchen is small, but well equipped. Big ups to Kat, Avi, Carlo and the rest of the gang at Pacific Tradewinds! Thanks for the recommendations on things to do and taco places to eat at. Loved my stay :) and will definitely be staying there again next time I'm in San Francisco.

I only stayed one night, but the staff was so friendly and helpful, I wish I could have stayed longer. There was a wine tasting the night that I stayed and it was an unexpected suprise and I learned a lot from it. This to me was exactly what I look for in a hostel, a comfortable place, with the opportunity to meet a lot of great people, and the chance to learn a little something more about the place I'm at.

This place is absolutely great. The staff are very welcoming and try to make you feel at home. Although I didn't partake, they often make dinner together and eat like a family. One night, a group of us went to a house party in the Mission, which was awesome. As someone who has been to many hostels, I can safely say this place is one of those good hostels that you can make friends at.

very chill hostel full of friendly staff and other visitors. located in safe area of san francisco with good public transport around. fantastic security with buzzer door, and large lockers under bunk beds for personal belongings. social, hippie atmosphere. communal bathrooms. clean. didnt have to wait to use them. hostel is a door on the road and takes stairs up (no elevators) so be ready for that or you might miss it/ struggle with luggage. met awesome people here, would stay again!

Idk what ppl see in this hostel, its more like a tenement in chinatown. The staff are very nice ppl, but the hostel doesnt really offer you jack apart from a bed and a very shared bathroom. The crush I developed for the short haired girl in the reception desk is going to take a long time to wear off. If you're broke, come here, if you are not, go elsewhere

I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE this Hostel, the staff (KAT) greeted me so warmly, she came down with another person to help me with my bag, then Kat checked me in and showed me to my room. She made me feel completely welcome and able to relax. I am a disabled Veteran and had requested the bottom bunk, which I was accomodated with. Another staff member was Valentino, who is always a joy to be around, he always has something nice to say, as well is a good listener. I
