The alarm bells should have gone off when we saw the huge bag of rubbish and dozens of empty beer bottles. The room was large but very grimey, and evrything was covered with a fine patina of dust. When we went ot go to bed, there was no top sheet and the lower sheet had stains from whtever the previous occupants. Iit was a hot airless room, freezing cold with the air conditioner on and the fan made a horrible sqeeking noise making it impossible to sleep. Much better value nearby. Avoid.

Good young manager who tries very hard to look after you. Thank you!

the room and bed were clean enough, but the hotel seemed very dirty and run down. The room however was full of mosquitos (worst i've seen in india) and no net in the room so i was bit a lot. There was a fan but this did not help to cool the room down so it was difficult to sleep (January). The staff very polite and helpful.

The rooms are expensive when you book through Hostelworld as double rooms can be booked cheaper elsewhere. some nice and helpful staff although had to complain when they asked me to pay the 10% deposit we paid to Hostelworld as they said "we don't get this money". Overall, okay place with some nice food, but think some reviewers have been over-generous.

We loved every minute of our stay at Padikkal. Everything we look for and need in a hostel/homestay. Staff are VERY friendly and VERY helpful, even when interrupting them when watching football ha. Food is lovely, the fried chicken and french fries was just what we needed after weeks of eating curry. It was delicious. Salads are also very fresh and tasy. Breakfasts are fantastic and good value for money. Free speedy wifi on the landing/lobby area. Definitley recomend this perfect home.

Good location, nice comfortable rooms, really friendly and helpful staff. Just the odd power cut to complain about ;) but they got sorted quickly enough so no problems really.
