I spent 7 hours here before an early flight and it wasn't bad. We booked a 6 bed mixed dorm and it just happened that we got our own room (2 women) all alone, for the same price. Woo! Drawback: it smelled of paint thinner. Literally. When we left the following morning for days afterward, still smelled like it. You have to pay 50 cents for warm water, and several signs warn you DO NOT FLUSH PAPER IN TOILET. That's pretty common in Athens, but I heeded the warning here. Clean sheets! Near buses!

I loved the hostel and the staff (Miriam). She was totally nice with me and as soon as I arrived there she gave me a map and showed me all the nearest supermarkets, restaurants and monuments. The bathrooms and common areas were clean and at night there were no noises or people talking. I really loved being there and I'll be back for sure! The only disadvantage is the hostel is not close to a metro station, it's necessary to take a bus.

Pagration is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is about a 30 minute walk to the historic sites (Acropolis, Agora, etc.) or you can take a bus/tram. The staff at the hostel is great and the facilities are ok. You do have to pay for hot water, which actually turned out to be lukewarm water. I would recommend this hostel if you are looking to stay in a non-tourist area where you can experience a true Greek neighborhood.

Cheap but you have to pay 0.50 for a tepid shower, no free hot water at this place, cold is free. But very nice location, with good mattresses and blankets, cheap for the season, you can walk to the acropolis on 20 min or it's close to transportation. The hostel owners are very nice Greeks. Close to grocery store and good cooking facilities inside.

I really enjoyed this hostel. The staff is very friendly and they were incredibly helpful in finding the best stings to do and not do in Athens. The rooms were really cool and you get a balcony which I absolutely loved. The bathrooms were average, but they were fine for anybody's sake. The location is actually very cool because there is lots of things to do in the area and it is a very safe place. It is about a 20-30 minute walk from the Acropolis depending on how fast you walk.

The only thing good about the hostel is Henry, the young guy at the front desk (who also happens to be the only person running the hostel). The actual owner is an old man who seems rather grumpy and unprofessional (ex, shouting at Henry for not watering his plants in front of everyone in the hostel). Anyway, rooms were too stuffy and smelly. Also, 50 cents for 8 minutes of hot water WTF?! I've lived in hostels all over Europe but never had one especially charging for hot (even warm) water. Bad!

No microwave.. But I guess they're not too common in Greek hostels... Have to pay fifty cents for an eight minute shower... Kinda weird... Wifi is mostly okay.. The guy who works there is an interesting young man lol, very friendly, and very helpful, bIt's not too far away from the centre, and it's close to some attractions... All a nice walk tho... Only 15min from centre

This was a very clean and safe hostel with a few quirks that made it pretty unique. The kid working the front was goofy and very eager to help and hang out. The value was great, but there were a few downsides to this place. Namely, you should be aware that the location is quite safe (big plus) but rather far from the center. Additionally, the hostel has cameras and intercoms all around that the owner can (and does) simply watch and listen in all of the happenings, which is a little Orwellian.

PAGRATION youth hostel was LOVELY...the atmosphere is LOVELY.HENRY was AWESOME,very friendly and welcoming, and gave us a free map,and explained us everything we needed to know, and took the time to mark everything on the map for us so that we were without a question! (thanks henry)theres even a beach not far from the hostel like a half hour bus ride away,so you can experience the culture of athens along with the beaches! the only down side was the 50 cents for hot water, and no computers only wifi
