Opened in 2004, the Painted Turtle Guesthouse is a fully renovated 1913 heritage building. Located in the heart of the cultural arts district in downtown Nanaimo, one block from the ocean seawall - cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs, art galleries, bakeries, street performers and local points of interest are all at our doorstep.

We offer 2 computer kiosks plus FREE WIFI, FREE luggage storage and a living area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining facilities, a cozy fireplace and lounge and incredibly clean, centralized private washrooms.

We have dorm beds (female, male & co-ed), private rooms, and family rooms - perfect for backpackers and groups. Our family friendly, home away from home ambiance, makes us for every kind of traveller.
