My first stay in a canadian hostel, was very happy with the experience and would return. Very clean and friendly with full kitchen. Heard complaints re: the wifi. Convenient location (15 dollar/minute taxi to the ferry station and west coast trail express) would return and recomment to a friend.

Can't say I necessarily recommend visiting Nanaimo, but if you do go there, stay here! Perfect location (in the tiny, beautiful centre of the town, near the waterfront). Clean, modern facilities. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. They share the same internet account system with other HIs in Western Canada, which is convenient if you're traveling around the area. No breakfast, but lots of places to eat nearby, like the Dancing Goat. Wonderful place.

It was a great time staying there. The staff were really friendly, the common room was really nice, the room was perfect and clean and even the bathrooms were great. It was an excellent hostel experience, and the location couldn't have been better.
