Hostel is placed in a nice and comfy old townhouse. What made our stay perfect was the staff: So welcomming and warming. Always there for you with good recommendations and they will organize surf lessons for you. The kitchen is equiped perfectly, wish my own was like that. We had the best sleep in our whole trip through Portugal. Thank you Debs for everything!

Super friendly staff, very very helpful. Feels like you are part of the family when you stay there. They genuinely care about their guests. Breakfast was better and had more variety than most hostel I stayed at in Europe. Great barbecue and pizza nights! Steve and Debbie drove me to the surfing beach every single day, so much easier than to take the bus with a surfboard! Common areas are really nice, lots of room to chill, the bar at the back makes it even better! Great value for money!

Good and friendly hostel - we just for a touchdown (1 night) but enjoyed the warm welcoming. Eggs for breakfast was a welcomed extra ;) Cleaness was good, hostel wasn't crowed and not far away from the city center. Can recommend it.

Perfect hostel if you want a chilled out holiday. Staff are super helpful and friendly and the double room we stayed in was great. 10-15 min walk to the beaches, street parking (if driving there) and the breakfast was excellent. Bit cluttered and messy in the kitchen for our liking, but all part of the relaxed vibe going on here.

The hostel was OK but too faraway from the city center given that the city is very small.

The Paintshop Hostel was awesome! The staff is great, helpfull en very friendly. You can go surfing, bicycling or just chilling at the beach. The breakfast is good and the beer in the bar is just 1 euro! If you go to Figueira you have to go to the Paintshop hostel!

A great stay at the Paintshop, even though I don't surf! I felt welcomed immediately. The owners and staff are really friendly, fun and always happy to help with anything. Comfortable beds, great breakfast and lovely courtyard to relax in. Keep up the great work!

Great hostel, really cosy with almost OCD clean bathrooms, includes a bar and a super friendly dog. Steve and Debbie are awesome people, they obviously enjoy what they are doing which is why every single thing in this hostel is very well organised. Wether you're having a pizza night, getting drunk on Super Bock or feel like taking a surf lesson - everything is always perfect!

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Beautiful rooms, super comfy beds, immaculate (and huge!) bathrooms, great inexpensive bar, generous breakfast, sweet dog--but above all: the two kindest, most helpful, knowledgeable, fun hosts you could imagine. Steve and Debbie are clearly people people!
