Palfitos Sur was awesome! I stayed there with two friends and the rooms were warm, comfortable and clean. The atmosphere of the hostel is what I liked best, very relaxed and comfortable. The view is amazing from the palfito and waking up there was definitely a treat. Also, if you go for nothing else, go for the homemade bread in the morning for breakfast....the best!

Such a great little hostel!!! We felt right at home and the first night had the place to ourselves... the only downside is the kitchen which is quite small if the hostel were to be full, but the restaurants are great and serve delicious food at quite low prices. Un hostal increible, nos sentimos como en casa. La única crítica es que la cocina es bastante chica, y si el hostal estuviera lleno, sería difícil a caber para cocinar.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. No lockers available, but had the room to myself, so not an issue.

A very beautiful hostel. The room is not big but the facilities are quite good, a very good kitchen and cafe bar with sea view. I really like it.

A very pleasant time spent in this hostel in compagie fellow travelers and staff, and around a fireplace. Hostel clean, friendly, one of the best I've known. I recommend it.

Great place to stay in Chiloe, located in Castro. The place has a lot of character and the facilities are great and clean. Don Pedro and Gabi make a great staff, being helpful asking all questions about the city and giving recommendations about the island. Don Pedro also cooked a great dinner that shared with us the first night. This hostel will be my first option when I'll come back Chiloe someday.

At 12,000 pesos a night for a dorm, I did not live up to its price. The primary issue was that the kitchen was tiny and very poorly equipped. It lacked in utensils including plates and had NO REFRIGERATOR. They also do not permit alcohol which is something I think they should indicate on HW. My comforter also had several mysterious stains on it. Overall great view, cool to stay in a palafito, ok for a family, bad for a young independent travelers and waaaaaaaay overpriced.

We had a nice stay in Palafito. The hostel has a great view and home made fresh bread. Some rooms are pretty tiny though and the kitchen not really well equipped for cooking. And all doors are built for smaller people, so watch out for your head!!!

nice hostel with one disadvantage: the rooms are small and dark with only small windows to the floor. anyway, the staff and the atmosphere are very good.

Quality & service aren't part of the deal here. Sheets are thrown at you when you arrive & you pay upfront... Cramped windowless rooms have no storage and walls are half made of clear plastic sheeting so noise & light flood in. No lightbulbs, no towels, no hand soap in WC. The kitchen, lacking most basics, is so small it can't be used by more than 1 at a time, long line up at meals and dinning-living room seats few so no place to hangout on rainy eves. The belligerent owner just doesn't care.

Great warm atmosphere with the wood burner on all day, cosy with wonderful view from traditional palafita house over the water. Family owned and hosts friendly and helpful, Only opened a few months so everything brand new and bound to be a firm favourite with travellers to Castro.

This hostel is in an interesting setting. The owners and staff are very nice, but the vibe is a little too "tranquilo" for me. Also, they did not have lockers in the rooms.

Brand new, the room I stayed in was really small and had no place to put your things. and the walls aren't totally covered so there's a lot of light at night. and a lot of noise because its a small house. i'm a 21 year old traveling alone and there were 2 families with babies. And the kitchen is very small

Lovely common space and terrace with gorgeous view. New place and still a little unfinished, curtains and light bulbs in bedside lamps would be appreciated.

The guys working at the hostel are great! Wonderfully friendly and welcoming and the building itself is beautifully renovated. Make sure you spend some time hanging out on the balcony!

Had a wonderful time at Palafito Sur while in Castro. Hostel was very charming and unique, staff was excellent- very friendly and helpful with tips around town and whats good! It is a little bit away from the main part of town but the walk is very nice and the hostel is on the water so the view is great, much more peaceful than being in downtown! Definitely would stay again at this hostel!

We (Sebastian & Elisabeth) spent two nights in this brand new hostel, we enjoyed it very much! The rooms are very charming, build up in a creativ and lovely style. The owner, Eugenio, and his House-Friends do everything for their guests, to make them feel just like home! Resume: clean, cool and absolutely worth it!
