This hostel is placed in the best neighborhood from Buenos Aires(Palermo with many bars, restaurants, arts, safe, and good ways to travel around the city). It's a good option because the price, travelers and staff are cool.

Palermo House is in one of the nicest parts of Buenos Aires. There is a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the dorms are hot and cramped and the security lockers in the dorms are in poor shape.

hi erik thanks for your review.. this week we fix the 18 metal lockers who where out of order and also we replace the last 15 old matrices in four dorms, in the room you reserve there is an ac programed for work 16 hours a day every day but if any of the nine people left the door open the ac is completely useless. and by the way any 9 people dorm anywhere in the world supost to be cramped!!! had a nice southamercian trip and get back home safe..

The Palermo house had an incredible atmosphere; the staff was always helpful and friendly, and the vibe in the common area was the best I have experienced with reguards to creating a community atmosphere amongst the travellers. The location was also great: located in Palermo, close to shopping, parks, the subway, and many bus stops. When I return to Buenos Aires (I hope sooner rather than later) I will be returning to the Palermo House!

The Staff was very nice. The hostel itself is a bit fusty. Nice if you wan't to drink and party everyday, not nice if you want to sleep or feel at home.

If you want five-star, go to the Ritz, at Palermo House the staff are the stars.Consistently friendly, helpful and welcoming, they´ll help you get straight to the heart of life in cool, chic Palermo Soho! Be prepared to party and socialise, this is definitely a hostel for people who like to enjoy Argentina´s thrilling "vida de la noche". The roof terrace is the focal point of the hostel....catch some sun by day, by night chill under the cooler temperatures....I´ll be back for more fun soon!

What can I say about a hostel that doesnt control who get's in and have poor, small lockers for tiny bedrooms full of beds? Actually, I had my bag was stolen while I slept!!! Highly disappointing. Not attentious staff and bad hype atmosphere, with expensive prices at the bar. I dont recommend it at all.

thanks unfortunately felipe is the case example of someone who feld at home and forgot his things always ewerywhere. for felipe and any other future guests, this is a hostel, if you had been living here for 6, 15, 33 days, 2 months or half a year this is still a hostel, here and in any hostel around the globe you had to put your credit cards, money, iphones, ipad, portables, passports in the locker 24 x 7. felipe left his laptop in the common room and went to sleep. he forgot his pc in the common room five nights of the twelve nights he sleep at the hostel.

this 3 "girls" where very clean and tidy and they where in the early fortys, and of course this is not a hostel for people over fortys.. we advice it everywhere, in the hostelworld microsite and all over the publicitys we do..

we booked a double room ensuite. when we arrived at the property the bathroom was not attached to our room, it was located at the other side of the building. the pillows on the bed had no covers on them and were extemely stained and dirty. the sheets on the bed were grubby looking and stained. we had booked the hostel for 6 nights but we left after 2. price way too expensive for this room.very noisy.for an extra 8 euros per night we booked a very comfortable 3 star hotel which was very clean.

Filthy, disorganised and rude - but in a great location. This place needs to sort itself out, from worrying more about the sewage on the floor than repainting the murals on the wall, to replacing the rudest man I've met in South America who unfortunately runs the place. Stayed here 3 nights and never got the room I booked, all aircon was broken and the showers barely worked. In short - stay somewhere else, anywhere else..

Amazing graffiti, great location, awesome common area. That's it. The rooms were boiling hot. I'm okay with fan but there's no ventilation. Dying in there. All the smell stayed inside and it was disgusting. Dorm had 3 lockers working in a 9 bed dorm. Room was SUPER tiny. Nowhere to put backpack. Mattress beds were bending because they were so old and horrible. The whole building had a muggy old smell to it. I don't even want to talk about the bathrooms. Skip this place and pay a dollar more.

Owner Comment (Show)
as we advise our guests on the hostelworld microsite this hostel is not suitable for older people, our building, our facilities and lively night time socialising are not ideally suited to those over 40 and of a sensitive nature like this two old boys.

Palermo House felt like a home away from home, we almost got stuck there not wanting to leave. It has such a great feel to the entire place, with the amazing graffiti art on the walls and the great balcony outside! We met some amazing people there, both guests and staff. We can't speak highly enough about it! All the staff are friendly and willing to help with anything you need, special mentions to Juan, Julian and Camilla. Thanks for an unforgettable stay in BA! Xx

It is a cool hostel, and it's location is great. However the bathrooms are not nice at all, and it needed more cleaning.
