The room we booked turned out to be a double instead of a twin room, but we failed to communicate the difference between the two to our hosts. The atmosphere would have been a lot better if not for the loud speaker looping a commercial for thai boxing - that "big fight, big fight" speach is still echoing in my head... It really started bothering us after four hours or so. Other than that everything was ok.

It was a Good place when we where there for the fullmoon party. We stayed in their thaigym which was pretty cool. Got good prices for using the gym. We only had problems with their laundry service which miss coulored our cloth.

Palio hostel has a great atmosphere and very good location for full moon party. Loved the chill out garden area, great place to hang out and nurse a hangover :-) Staff were friendly and helpful. Pretty cool staying in a Muay Thai boxing arena, very unusual place to stay. Only bad point is that 'The Final Count Down' song is now permanently stuck in my head...

We enjoyed staying here. This hostel is a 3 minute walk to the Beach with the Full Moon Party but off the beaten path so it's not loud at all! It does have other dorm rooms inside a boxing gym though which we found kind of odd but if you don't get those rooms you'll be fine.

DIRTY bathrooms Changed place as soon as we got there, even though we had already paid and couldn't get the money back.

The people who work there are very friendly and always helpfull. They can arrange everything you want. The location is perfect if you like to party on the beach. It's a short walk to the beach but far away enough of the noice at night. And the partys at the hostel it self are sometimes even better as on the beach

Spent a week here over full moon and new year, Was massively over priced for full moon obviously, but was a decent place, right behind muay thai stadium so the tannoy was pretty annoying. But other than being pretty crowded it was a nice enough place to stay.

We went for the full moon party and had a great time, however, this was not due to the hostel being good! The room we opted for online was an 8-bed dorm. When we arrived we were put in a 16-bed dorm. The beds were as hard as planks, extremely uncomfortable. The staff were not good! It was overpriced. The bathroom was filthy and the staff did not clean the room or bathroom in the entire time we were there. The free boxing matches we got into were a plus, they had a good atmosphere.

This hostel is essentially the Haad Rin arena where they hold Muay Tai fights. Our room was actually in the gym. The bathroom was revolting, it smelt so bad we couldn't go in there. And there was a broken window that could've let people in. However great location. 5 minute walk from the beach and shops. And as our room was in the gym, free entry to fights. We were there for the Full Moon party, and if you just need somewhere to sleep with fun people to hang out with, then definitely stay here.

The owners were exceptional and could not do enough for you. As a solo traveller, they made me feel welcome, safe and looked after. I would reccommend this hostel to a one travelling to Koh Phangan, especially around the full moon as it is a 2 minute walk from the beach and busy bar street.
