Palmers Lodge - Swiss Cottage is set in what one Hostelworld reviewer calls a 'spacious, lovely old mansionette' with a distinctly Victorian English atmosphere. Many of our users say they 'would always go back' to this hostel when in London. The 'knowledgeable', 'lovely and helpful' staff are frequently praised for providing 'very focused, personalised attention' to guests, while visitors can 'meet new people and have a good laugh' in the downstairs pub. We like that most of their bunk beds have privacy curtains, creating personal space even in a busy dorm.

Recently renovated, Swiss Cottage boasts not only a fantastic London city location and building but our services are unbeatable! We have a 24 hour reception so you can be assured we are always there for you if you need us, we have also taken great care when it comes to your safety & security so you don't need to worry and can chill in our bar or relax in the lounge and watch the latest game.
An added bonus is that beds are pre-made and come with linen all for free, so the late arriving lodger can jump straight into bed, or the bar! We do believe that a happy lodger needs a good breakfast, which is why we have a free continental breakfast for you to start you day in a good way! We also offer free Wi-Fi throughout the hostel so you can stay in touch with the rest of the world and explore what's on in London!
It is easy to forget when you stay at Swiss Cottage that there is a vibrant city just outside waiting for you! We are close to the underground (tube to the locals) so you can be in any of London's hotspots within minutes! If it's shopping you're looking for, the tube will take you directly from Swiss Cottage Station to the centre of Oxford Street, or you can shop till you drop at Europe's largest shopping centre Westfield. You could also have a drink or two in Leicester Square, take a spin on the London Eye or spot Kate and William at Buckingham Palace, all this and more with the tube from Swiss Cottage Station just around the corner!

I think what Hostelworld guests like most about our property is the character of our building, a beautiful Victorian listed mansion. Our helpful staff are also highly rated.

We've got some great unique features, like lots of free under-bed storage and custom-made bunk beds with curtains and nightlights for extra privacy. There's also an onsite bar where you can meet other people and join our theme nights; plus, we also stock several pub games and a Wii. I really feel that we're ideal for budget-concious travellers who want to experience boutique accommodation without sacrificing the social element that can only be found in hostels.
We're located less than 20 minutes' walk from Hampstead Heath, Abbey Road, Regents Park and Primrose Hill. I recommend checking out the Hamstead Theatre; it's only about four minutes' walk from here.- Esther, Sales & Marketing Manager

Latest Review
Although a bit away from the city centre (zone 2) it's less than a 5 min walk to the tube which can easily get you to the touristy spots, so that wasn't bad. Breakfast was just ok- bland cereals, bread and- if you're not there late- croissants. Bathrooms were clean, but it was a bit weird having a co-ed bathroom. The room I was in was just next to the restaurant/bar
