The location was perfect, 3 min walking from a metro station. The staff was friendly and the douches and toilets were clean. It was cold in the rooms and a little bit dusty because there is carpet in the rooms. But is was OK.

Palmer's lodge is a nice facility with very helpful staff and a fun environment. The internet was a bit patchy at times, but that is honestly the only flaw I found. I would definitely stay there again!!

The hostel was wonderful. I cannot say the same about the staff. We had a massive booking issue. The man changed it well, but treated me like an idiot- all my fault. They had a 'no outside alc' rule, which meant they stole any in the room and didn't tell us. We thought it was actually stolen it was seen at the front desk. We weren't looking to consume this on the premises. Dinner times- closed when a large group came. No announc earlier in the day, just closed 7-8 no warn. we were hungry

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were o.k. except that during our last night before we had to go up at 4:45 am a fottball team checked in at 2:00 am and started a trainings match next floor. Strange sight though to notice 20 or so people, everyone addicted to the laptop but no one talking to one another.

The hostel itself was pretty good - in terms of character and the people there - but our room was a little bare and lacked the character of the rest of the hostel. It was also freezing in our room. But good service, it's closeness to the tube station, and free breakfast made it better.

Big hostel, well located and good staff, but the bathroom of the third floor was broken, so too much people sharing one bathroom that was dirty all the time.Luggage room was also very poor, outside the hostel which is not good in the rain/snow. Also the breakfast was terrible, croissant and bread eveyday. The juice looks more like water. They could discount the value correspondent to the breakfast they include in the total amount and the travellers could enjoy the coffe shops around the hostel.

Really good atmosphere, I felt safe and comfortable. It was maybe cold sometimes, and connexion to the Internet was difficult in the evenings.

The Swiss Cottage was excellent. It was clean, safe and had awesome facilities such as a big TV/hanging out room and its own restaurant/bar. I would definitely return to Swiss Cottage, in fact I intend to stay at Swiss cottage again should I return to London.

As a first hostel experience, this place is fantastic! I would recommend to anyone. The rooms and facilities are clean and the decor is charming and full of character. The only "fault" i can mention is that the common room can be a cold with only two heaters in a large space competing with 6 large windows. Having said that though, since leaving here a few days ago, i have already booked again to stay 3weeks. Its just such a lovely place, 2 minutes to the tube and close to shops and more.

Super! I like the place. All excellent. I look also for calm spots and there are, with confortable (healthy) woden benches in the corridor. The living room is very nice, it could be even better if the coffee and else distrubutors were more silent.

It was my first time staying in this hostel and found the staff to be most helpful and curteous. However the facilities of a 12 bed women's dorm were very cramped with toilet floors often flooded and one shower without light . But overall I felt safe, warm and relatively comfortable in this hostel and would stay again.

I believe it would be better to offer the possibility of a kitchen rather than the restaurant. It is cheaper for travellers. Another importnat respect which should definitely be changed is that I was charged an extra pound because of paying with credir card. I found out that this is not done in other hostels. This needs to be checked.

I stayed at Palmer's Lodge for 12 days. I would recommend it to laid back people and to those who are looking for a temporary place to stay when they arrive in London -looking for a flat or a job. Great hostel, clean and safe with very friendly staff. However, because of refurbishment works the showers weren't available on our floor. I met very interesting people there and made a couple of friends as well.

The hostel was well organized and cleaned but the rooms lacked hanging space. The toilets were too far away from our rooms and the showers out of service on our floor..yes, there was an apology but it was difficult. Although the card security was a great idea it was almost impossible to get through the big door on the second floor with my card and I had to go by the lift. I liked the bed lights and the decor..the breakfast.

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback. We do apologise about the inconvenience with the showers. We are currently upgrading our bathrooms that is the reason why they were out of order. It will not take too long to finish the renovation. The key cards can be quite sensitive, next time please do come to reception to get it changed. We hope that you still enjoyed your stay with us and will not hesitate to return! Regards Palmers Lodge Team
