Although a bit away from the city centre (zone 2) it's less than a 5 min walk to the tube which can easily get you to the touristy spots, so that wasn't bad. Breakfast was just ok- bland cereals, bread and- if you're not there late- croissants. Bathrooms were clean, but it was a bit weird having a co-ed bathroom. The room I was in was just next to the restaurant/bar

I have spent several enjoyable, comfortable nights at Palmers Lodge. I was very impressed with the evening meals on offer, too. very good value for money. Friendly staff. I think the history of the building could be reinforced and made more of a selling feature!

Good hostel in good location, just a short subway ride to the center of the city. While they didn't provide many tips voluntarily, it was a suitable hostel. The privacy curtain was a nice touch but still found it crowded and noisy. Lots of younger high school aged kids. London was a bit of a blur for us due to jet lag but this hostel was fine.

My second experience of a hostel as a somewhat maturish person. Having said that, there was a real mix of people, and the whole atmosphere of the place was pretty laid back. Lots of internet connections - a lot of people lounging about with their laptops in the lounge, and relatively little in the way of younger people running about and yelling compared to the last place. Breakfast was pretty good too, and I didn't have any problems accessing showers or loos. Was using it for business stopover.

Hostel for not young people. More for families and old persons. Bad atmosphere. The staff was not so nice and don' t were proactive to help you.

Staff are fantastic, great atmosphere. Free luggage storage came in handy, and they do have locked drawers beneath the bunks for valuables, but you need your own padlock. You could also buy them at reception for £3.50 but the one I bought seemed to be faulty.

The location was nice with good acces to underground, the building was beautiful and old, free breakfast was a definite plus. Though I must admit, your automat tea didn't taste almost at all like tea. The bed was comfortable to sleep on and curtains gave enough sense of privacy.

Good stay at Palmers. We stayed in 18 bed mixed dorm. Because the construction of room with wooden bunk beds and good luggage lockers it was quiet enough to sleep and the curtains provide privacy from you neighbors. Wifi was easy to access and worked in the room and in lobby. On my level the first floor there was one shower that was the smallest shower I have seen in a hostel. Very cramped yet got the job done with hot water. There were other showers downstairs that I found out my last day.

The location was a bit far away from central London. It was very clean, the washrooms were always clean which I appreciated. The dorm was pretty noisy at night with the door opening and closing a lot. The breakfast was a lot of carbs, some yoghourt and fruit would have been nice. Also the curtains around each bunk were helpful. If I were to go back, I wouldn't stay in one of the big dorms because it was too noisy.

This hostel is very well located. It is 3 minutes away walking to the metro station. Breakfast was good and the living room is nice. There is free tea and coffee 24h. I really like my stay at this hostel.
