Great hostel with nice staff and good location. However it was freezing cold in the room despite the heating running all day.

What shock me was the loudness my roommates made throughout the nights (1:00, 2:00... 4:00!) with total indifference. They went in the room with their luggages rolling on the floor, slaming the door, pulled and pushed their bed lockers more than once to grab one thing after another, just as they didn't care. Palmers Lodge is not to blame, but there should be some kind of guidelines to highlight at arrival. I know there is no curfew on purpose, but this method has benefits as well as drawbacks

totally i like it but for 12people's room was really small and no space to open our luggages. i hope room space was bigger

The almost perfect hostel. My minor problems were that some services, like lockers, should be offered for free. Still you can rent a locker or safe for £7/wk. Breakfast was not very good. But for being such a beautiful building for such low price, I can't complain. Look for another hostel the company has, at Hillspring, which is less full, therefore has better prices on peak periods or for last-minute booking.

Great beds with curtains. Beautiful building. Not great breakfast. Nice common room with big comfy couches.

Nice, clean and good environment. The curtains on the bunk beds kept falling down which drove me nuts, but apart from that it was a nice hostel.

Well located, with a tube very near. Very nice atmosphere and staff. The lockers are chests below the first bed from the bunk, which we didn't like so much, but that was not a problem. Recommended!

Great hostel! Close to a metro station, but it is out of downtown London. Very clean bathrooms and showers. The large dorms can get busy and noisy in the morning, but that's to be expected. Great set up for dorm beds, makes it feel very private. Breakfast was decent, toast, cereal, coffee, tea, croissants, juices. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Given the previous reviews I was expecting a lot more from the Palmers. But the reality is that the place is very bad run, not clean, some staff members are rude and the facilities are not in optimal condition. There was -2C and a door couldn't been closed allowing the chill coming into the room. We notified of this to the staff 3 times and none did anything. The Breakfast was horrible, only carbs and a horrible coffee in a tiny room for so many guests. Internet came in and out pretty often

Very busy hostel. Wifi is a bit of a struggle, frequently cuts out or slows significantly.

Palmers Swiss Cottage was a very good hostel. I stayed there for 5 nights. The location isn't the MOST central, but it's easy to take the Underground anywhere you need. The building is beautiful and there's a a great atmosphere for meeting people. Just go hang out in the hostel bar and you'll meet plenty of friendly travelers! Because of the price I think, there is a large amount of older men staying there and just working. Kind of strange, but I didn't have any problems.

This was my first hostel experience, but overall very nice place to stay. The common room was comfortable with free wifi, although spotty. I wish the wifi worked in the rooms. I stayed in a 24 plus person room, so in the morning it can be loud, but that is expected. I liked that they have a pull out lock box under the bunk beds for valuables. The shower was lukewarm at best, but I may have had a malfunction because others said that their showers were comfortable.

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I loved it. They were literally cleaning the place constantly. Everything worked out great, I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Nice place, nice staff and felt well but bigger bathroom and something more private would have been better.

We were very impressed with this hostel...not only was the subway stop just a couple of minutes away by foot, but there were also grocery stores within walking distance for those who don't want to eat out for every meal. Its laid back with the feel of a coffee shop and not a party hostel. The majority of guests kept to themselves. Bathrooms were great...they're cleaned numerous times in the course of the day and there are plenty of shower stalls. Curtains on the beds are also a huge plus!

There's just one thing that probably was not a problem to other customers but it was for me: when having a shower the water was too hot. Apart from that I do not have anything to complain about. Thanks!
