Good location, if you fly in from Luton or Stansted and catch the national express bus. The room smelled with so many people in it. Lack of powerpoints in the room and no chance it being near your bed so risk of someone taking your charging device. Annoying guys in my room were drunk and talked loudly at 4am in the morning!

Hi there and thank you for your review. Sorry to hear about the bad roommates. But you can always let our night receptionist know about it and he can tell them to keep quiet. Hope this experience didn't change your idea about hostels. Hope to see you again!! :)

Hostel is great value for money, is average as it took as fferent melocationtook to differentlineso the city centre, in total you should calculate about 45 minutes. Staff wasnt very friendly, but helpful though, they print as a map how to take a night bus to the hostel (2 different buses, too far for the crazy night out, unless you wanna take a last metro at 24) Hostel was clean, our double ensuit very small, basically only bed , nothing to do with the pics on the web. Breakfast the besfor4.70!

We asked a couple of weeks before if we could combine two bookings that were made seperately, so that we could be in the same room. Unfortunately, we didn't get a reply and we were also put in two different rooms. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed at Palmers Lodge Swiss Cottage on many occasions and prefer it to most of the expensive London hotels. If you are polite, friendly and well organised you will have no problems with your stay or with the with the staff, who have always taken good care of me. I wish this wonderful hostel every success and hope it will be around for many years to come.

This hostel was convenient, but nothing special. It is located near a metro stop, so it's great if you're planning on traveling most of the day, but was not necessarily impressive. the staff were relatively helpless and the rooms were sort of cramped. They did, however, have a nice restaurant/bar, and a LOT of travelers there.

Loved this place! Great staff:) Very clean. Best out of 6 months travel. Only downside was not having a fully equipped kitchen for guests but as long as you know this it is not a problem. There is microwave and fridges available and food can be purchased at the bar. Look forward to staying here again!

We loved the hostel!! The place is really nice and tidy at all aspects. The staff is awesome and ready to help you all day. Totally recommend this hostel...really close to the tube station, so you can go anywhere in London from there.

A pretty nice Hostel overall. The facilities are OK, the Wi-Fi doesn't really work in the rooms, and it gets hot as hell at night in your bed. The windows don't really open much due to security reasons so there isn't really much you can do. In terms of location, it's not bad, but you will have to take the underground and make transfers to get to the tourist spots. Lots of restaurants near by but supermarket is about 15-20 mins away by foot, near the next station on the jubilee line.

I've been in London many times in other hostels and this one is the best I've ever been. If I come back I'll choose Swiss Cottage for sure.

Triple bunk beds are not accessible for everybody, people should be informed about their existence in the description of the room they reserve. All the rest is great

This place seems very nice from the pictures and the rooms are cute, but the bathrooms are terrible, there's no atmosphere and it's not worth paying 5GBP more than other hostels if you think you're picking somewhere more comfortable. 30 second timers on all the showers and signs encouraging you to 'protect the environment' (save them some cash) by keeping your shower to this time limit. It's insulting after paying 20GBP for a dorm on the weekend.

Good location, underground only a 2 minute walk away

I had a very nice stay in this hostel. They have a nice lounge room and a good bar + restaurant downstairs. I was staying in a dorm, it was not noisy at all and a good plus : there are curtains around each bed so you can have your privacy!

Palmers Lodge was my "home away from home" in London, a jewel of a hostel. Despite the negatives of a small kitchen, and push-button showers, on the other hand the atmosphere, comfortability of beds, friendliness of staff, fast Internet, free tea/coffee, and just the overall balance and feel of this place (lounge, solid wood beds, good sheets, etc.) clicked with me and more than made up.

Really good location, close and easy walk to the tube.

Although a little outside of city center, very close to tube and easy to get around. Some of the staff were helpful but the majority did not seem to care about any of the guests. When someone else took my bed for the night, staff told me to simply find another one---in the dark at 11pm! They also close the bathroom for cleaning at 9am, couldn't you do it another time of day when people aren't waking up?? Finally the whole place smelled & had no character. Not a good place to meet people.

There is no air conditioning and ventilation inside the rooms. An average room is 100 m3 snd 8f i.e 16 people in the winter breath , then there will be no oxygen for breathing. The lighting inside the rooms are very baf and there are just small number of charging points in the rooms

Chaotic staff, but helpful. Useless lockers in room. Cramped room. Good value breakfast, dinner. Beer. Good lounges to relax in. Good wi-fi. Real stores, restaurants, M&S supermarket close by. On the whole, this place is ok, considering you can do much worse.
