I loved this place! It reminded me of an old boarding school, it was beautiful, cosy and quiet. The atmosphere was great, the staff were sweet and the accommodations were comfy. The wireless wasn't in the rooms but that wasn't a big deal, free in the lounge and reception. The Swiss cottage subway stop on the jubilee line was very close and the tube was surprisingly easy, though expensive. Overall, it was great! Had a wonderful time!

Had a nice weekend there. The breakfast is very basic and the showers are a bit tricky to use, but the character and the central location make up for it. I would probably stay there again.

It would have been beneficial if there had been an indication that we would need to take our own padlocks because I had a laptop and no means of locking it away. Partly my own fault for assuming there would be lockers in the rooms.

Idealy situated between 2 metro stations: Finchley Road (Metropolitan line: direct connection to St Pancrass in 10 min) and Swiss Cottage (Jubilee line: direct connection to Greenpark and Westminster in 10 min). Very quiet area. Building and commodities are impressively clean. The room we had for 6 people was spacious. Breakfast is a bit poor and stops at 10:00, not 10:15 ! Luggage room is unsafe, even though we encounter no trouble. Prefer safe lockers which are proposed at the reception.

The hostel is just beautiful and even if it's a little bit far from the center of London, it's easy to reach it by metro. A damper about our private room as wide as our double bed... but enough well equiped to facilitate the movement in the room.

Stay lots here when in London. Love this hostel, awesome security with the locker under your bed and the laptop locker, cozy lounge, amazing staff, and the area is really fun to explore if you don't want to tube it to Central London. The renovated showers are lovely. My only qualms is I wish that there weren't so many young, loud and obnoxious school groups, that there would be a self-catering kitchen, and that the internet didn't cut out every 10 minutes, its infuriating!!

Me and my friends had a great stay there and we'll definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to spend a few days in old London town. Hope to be back soon! Love from Portugal.

Stayed in the 8 bed female dorm, which FYI is not ensuite. And they charge +£1 if you pay by card. Can't complain though I really like this hostel, I've stayed here twice and I think it's one of the better ones in London. The beds are great - study and comfty (nothing worse than squeaky bunks). No kitchen, but there are food outlets including an M&S and a lovely Italian cafe just around the corner from the hostel if you don't want to eat in. Would highly recommend. Just, as I said, no ensuite

Most staff are rude, except for Hayda who was always courteous and professional. The bath areas are nice and clean, but there are bed bugs in the basement rooms, several women showed me the bites and they were washing their clothes all night so I didn\'t sleep from the noise. The music at the reservation desk was loud and not condusive to the charm of the hostel... nor was it neutral (something anyone can appreciate). The reception and staff are the first thing people see and it should have a higher standa

Internet connection kept cutting in and out, especially at night time! No hostel activities or events! Basement bar was good, and the free breakfast was good. And the hostel was clean.

The location is good for those who want a quite place; but bad for those who want to save transport fees. The kitchen only provides a fridge, small electronic pan, two microwave oven and two kettle, it's too simple and I can't cook here~ But the hostel looks good and the curtain at bed is great.

It would be helpful to update their online profile to reflect male dorms being unavailable, as some people have religious objections to mixed-gender dorms. It was problematic to find out at check-in that I had booked a male dorm only to find out it doesn't exist....at which point it's too late to cancel and too bothersome to go elsewhere. Aside from the gender mixing, the hostel was nice, and is in a great location surrounded by shops, the Tube, and a good walk from Regent's Park.

Loved it- if I wanted to drink and be social it was easy to do in the Chapel Bar, but when I was tired and wanted to relax, I could read a book in the lounge with a cup of coffee....awesome place!

I really enjoyed staying at Palmers Lodge. It is conveniently located to the subway and its just few stops from Oxford Street and the most important attractions in London. If I'll ever need an hostel in London I'll come back here. For few pound you have a bed, breakfast, wi-fi and the chance to meet many people and enjoy London at the same time. The hostel itself has its soul. It's original and different from any other I ever been to.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The bed that I slept in gave me a skin irritation, and probably should be cleaned.

This hostel was everything I wanted and more! Highlights: 1)The showers and toilets were thoroughly cleaned throughout the day. 2)I never had to wait to use the facilities, and there was always hot water! 3)I was able to lock up all of my belongings in the large trunk under the bed. (Bring a padlock!) 4)I was able to "rent" a hair dryer at the front desk for £10. When I returned the hair dryer, the £10 was returned to me! (There are many items available to rent or purchase at the front desk.)
