Even though showers dont have closets or benches to leave your clothes, and showerd were across the corridor, the place is lovely and staff is reslly great! Shame that breakfeast is kind of poor! But definitely will comeback!!

When we checked in we had a great experience. The clerk who checked us is was extremely friendly and helpful and we were very happy with the room. We ran into a few problems later, such as we asked for toilet paper multiple times and never received any and finally had to stop a housekeeper and ask her. Also, a clerk came up and told us we were too loud (no toilet paper still) at 10pm and we were just talking, yet every morning at 4am we were awoken but the high school students next to us...

Busy hostel in a great London location, easily accessible to most things. Swiss Cottage seems to cater often to large tour groups as opposed to backpackers, so you can feel a bit anonymous while staying there. Privacy curtains around beds are great for privacy, but that may sometimes not be the best thing.

This was a really lovely warm, cosy, and friendly place to stay. My only complaint would be that every night there is a different tour bus of teenagers who can be very energetic well into the wee hours of the night. It would be good if the hostel could arrange to keep them all on the one floor away from the other guests who want to sleep! Besides that it's super clean and all the staff are very helpful!

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review. We would like to apologize about the noise made by a group of teenagers. We always try to keep them away from the rest of the guests but that time it couldn't be possible. Thank you for your understanding and support, We hope to see you soon. This place was excellent until the second night I spent there when a group of Dutch teenagers arrived and went mad in the corridor next to my room until 3 o'clock am. I had to call the reception several times to have somebody coming up and make them shut up. then at 6 o'clock am the crazy noise started again ! This made me very unhappy. Otherwise the place is great but this event spoilt my stay there.

The security wasn't the greatest here and I didn't really like. The fact that you can book a women's only dorm but then share bathrooms (including showers) with men. That didn't make sense! I would stay here again though. Jubilee Line = awesome for all the sights you have to see in London!

staff was friendly and helping, location is ok, everything was ok(value for the money), except one thing - a lack of fresh air in the rooms. for example in one room is sleeping close 29 people - and the only source of ventilation were 2 windows which open only 30 centimeters, and of course you can not keep them open all night - to people sleeping near windows was too cold. the curtains in the beds-perfect idea, you have some privacy (that's why I chose this hostel).

Palmers Lodge - Swiss Cottage is close to tubes & will get you to your London destinations quickly. The hostel had great character, helpful staff and was clean! ID cards were needed to enter the halls and rooms, making it secure. Restrooms and showers were cleaned frequently. Breakfast did not have lots of options however was free and included in the rates, therefore take advantage. Lounge room was relaxing with free computer access. Note to bring a lock for your belongings or buy one at desk!

Close to swiss cottage tube station which made travelling around london very easy! Hostel is in a beautiful old building, staff are friendly and room security is good. There are drawers provided under the beds which you can lock with your own padlock or you can buy one from the desk. I stayed in a 14 bed female dorm and beds/linen were clean. The beds had curtains which i loved because you have the option for privacy. Only thing negative was the mixed bathroom but they were kept very clean.

More like a large bed and breakfast than a hostel - don't go looking for that homely experience. Good privacy in room with each bed getting a curtain, light, power and little shelf. Under-bed storage is good. Well equipped kitchen and eating area. Breakfast was good, but don't expect the world for free. Tainted experience because of noisy guests that was made worse because house rules aren't enforced. 5 minute walk to tube, not much else close by.
