Palmer's Lodge is a great hostel. The location is good and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The bar is cheap and has a nice atmosphere with a cool little patio out back. The free breakfast in the morning is fine. Your choice of a coffee or latte, croissants, toast and cereal. Or you can pay 4 pounds for a plate with eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans and hashbrowns. I was taking the fact that they call themselves a boutique hostel into consideration and expected it to be a little less like a college dorm. It was very loud and the rooms were not as nice as in the pictures but the sheets were clean and the bed was comfy. They tell you that dinner goes from 6 pm to 9 pm, but the cook works random, just when he wants: he told me to wait until 8:15 pm because he was busy, and then he stopped working, without cooking me any food!
