I priviously just booked for two nights to stay here, but changed to six nights after. the owner and staff are helpful and nice. I also meet good friends here. I love the traditional design of the house. facilities are ok too. We have good sleep at night.

There's virtually no security. It was cold enough to see your breath inside the place. The power went out in the middle of our second night and nobody was there to fix the problem (the staff just kinda disappears after 10 PM). The entire girls' dorm was a bit helpless as they began an early cryogenic sleep. For $21 a night, consider pretty much any other hostel down the street.

It's better to improvement the toilets and bath rooms because the problems in the winter.

It was ok for sleeping. No more. Couldn't use the shower and the guy running the hostel isn't very helpful. Good choice if you are on a budget, beds are comfortable

People really friendly. Staff so helpful. They took our big backpack to put it upstair. They show us around. They make a cake for my friend's birthday and we share a drink with them. Really nice !!!! 8 beds kind of noisy at night.. They have night music downstair sometime. Bathroom needs improvement... So ... lets say people 10/10. And hostel 5/10

Was pretty hard to find the entrance to the hostel, especially in the morning when it wasn't open yet. Took us a while to find the door bell to drop our bags before check in. Other than that, was pretty good. Very small place so not much room for luggage but it had a good atmosphere. The hostel was walking distance to most sites.

I truly enjoyed my time in kyoto, in no small part thanks to the staff at Pan and Circus. Always helpful to accommodate any request, they will make sure you feel at home from the start. Other hostels may have fresher facilities, but staying at P&C gives you the best chance to share your experiences with fellow travelers and kyoto residents. Heartily recommended for solo backpackers.

Definitely one of the coolest hostels in Kyoto. You should stay few nights if only to see the building.

Alle verry nice but quite cold in the night.

A nice theme in the hostel but if you're a guy, then you will be staying in the roof space of the building (attic). The room is really dark (has no window). It's not that sociable here as the common room is a small table in the walkway to the dorm. The girls dorm looked much nicer so if you are female you may have a nicer experience. Having said that the location wasn't bad and the staff were really friendly

The hostel has a nice atmosphere (but weird decor), good facilities, comfy beds (that admittedly lack a curtain for privacy) and is in a decent location. Not the best place we stayed but definitely above average

Great place, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Met some great people and had a great time.
