Only stayed one night in a private bedroom/shared bathroom, breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room kind of smelled like smoke but that may have been just that night. The shower wasn't exactly hot but that's not too unusual traveling in Panama.

Hostel was nice enough but without much character and far away from the attractions of Panama City. It was annoying to have to bus or taxi everywhere. I also got the worst bed bugs I've ever had in my life... Got my money back but still. There's better options in the city, would recommend anywhere in Casco Viejo over here.

People staying at Luis's should beware if they hire a jeep to Carti (San Blas) driven by a driver named Ricardo they should beware! We were stood up on our pickup 3 days later by him and had to find our own way back to Panama City. It cost us a day of our vacation. We also had to wait for 2 hours to check in the second time we arrived at Luis's. There was a note on the desk saying they would be back "shortly" but it turned out to be 2 hours.

My stay was fantastic I will return, also if traveling somewere else I will consult with Hostel World for any other locations. Mr. Omar Davila is an incredible Manager and host, I was very impresed by his education and wilingness to help me find solutions to my questions. Fernando Carrera 1 305 888-8080

Panama by Luis is a little ways out of the city center, but you can catch a local bus nearby which will take you anywhere in town for just 25 cents. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I had a good time here :)

Nice enough folks, good people staying there. The place is situated a good ways out of the downtown area. Meaning that you have to take a taxi to get just about anywhere. The dorm was rather cramped but the place was clean. I´m not sure what type of Catering outfit they´re running off the property but it detracted from the ambiance running a second business out of the same common area used by their guests.

We only stayed for one night, but it was a great stay! It's a vey nice and clean hostel and has a very well-equipped kitchen to use. The private rooms even have an airconditioner. The staff is super friendy and helpful. So, all in all, it's a great hostel! I can totally recommend it.

Don't book Panama by Luis - He gave away our private room, even though we booked a room and he replied to our a confirmation email. We assume that normally reservations are processed more smoothly at Luis. However Luis tried to blame us for his mistake. After having stayed at more than 20 hostels in Central America alone, this is the first time we encountered a hostel owner who treated his customers so impolite.

Hostel located in busy part of town, close to bus stop, restaurants, McDonalds and supermarket. Staff quite accommodating and many speak English very well. Not bad.
