Stayed here for four nights. Good location near all bars/restaurants, yet quiet. Free computers with internet access to use. Good value food and drinks available. Large communal area, TV room with films and TV shows available. Staff all friendly and helpful, can arrange trips/tours for you at reasonable price.
The private room was a very nice big room with a bathroom and comfortable bed for a super low price. There are so many guesthouses in town that it keeps the prices down. You get a lot for a low price at Pans. The food is also good and the people who run the place are real helpful and have plenty of information. I'd recommend booking here. It's real popular and fills up quickly. While I was there, people who didn't book in advance ended up having to stay somewhere else since Pans was full
Excellent value for money accommodation with a wonderful, friendly and helpful owner Chris who makes everyone feel so welcome.

The owner very helpful with local knowledge, and booking buses around Laos. The rooms simple, but everything worked, what more do you want. The breakfast was good and a decent price. The location is about 5-10min walk to the main 'strip' where the majority of restaurants and bars are. So easy to get to places from, but you can get a good sleep if needed.

Great guest house with awesome staff. Chris is so friendly and helpful. Our twin room was out the back with comfy beds. Wifi was temperamental and only worked in reception/lounge/dining area however there were three desktop computers you could use. The food servered here is good with large portions.
Good place and very well located, Chris is very helpful and friendly owner that is always straight and honest without the need to show himself off. It could have a better wifi in the place but it does the trick if you want just check a few messages.
Nice staff that understand the backpakers and take care of us. Perfect place!! thanks
The staff was very nice and helpful !! The room was big and very clean!!! The food they offered is delicious
Pros: friendly staff, not-bad location, chilled atmosphere. Cons: Found a brigade of ants along the toilet wall every morning. They eventually moved into my bag. Overall: Not the best room you can ask for, but probably the greatest bang for the buck in town.
Located in a good spot this hostel is close to most things you need while in Vang Vieng. The Owner is helpful and happy to give advise where needed. The Quiet Rule after 12pm is good if you are trying to have a night off. Rooms are basic but provide everything needed. The Beds in our room were quite dirty but everything else in the room was fine. This is a very well priced place to stay!
Great value for money, great location, the owner is kind of dogmatic about keeping quiet after midnight. There is a nice tv room and wifi only in the reception Would return here if I arrive to Vang Vieng again
Really nice place. Chris, the owner, it's very helpful and friendly.
Old and tatty, shabby and chic, but loved, tended, maintained, cared for and cleaned to perfection!! A variety of good value rooms to suit plenty of tastes. I had a bungalow out the back which really felt like home. The hot shower had blasting pressure, and the fairies always seemed to have just visited for cleaning! Really excellent advice available from the staff. Delicious good value food available too.
Very chilled out, excellent advice from the hostel management, excellent food and within walking distance of everything is Vang Vieng
We only planned to stay in Vang Vieng for a night, but once we got in and saw the views and the hostel we booked for another. Just for the value alone, I would recommend Pan's Place again; in fact, we would stay there again. It was centrally located; close to bars and food. This was certainly a bang for the buck!
Run by a Kiwi. Only stayed one night but he was pretty clinical with directions, bus bookings and payment ie really helpful. The room was a bit damp but the fan is good enough. However for the price it is excellent value for money. Wifi didnt work in the room (but we were the furthest room). Wifi and computers (extra charge but cheap) in the reception. Also has a range of food at ok prices. Also the owner was just a really nice bloke in general. Recommend
Quite nice place, cheap food, cheap room, will be back.
It's definately value for money but it was not that clean. Bathroom looks scary. The owner was kind and try to help us a lot.
It has a relaxed feeling about it and Chris and the ladies are super friendly and helpful. It is only 300metres from town but can feel longer if your wanting to hang out near the bar strip(westerners around corner from the tubing company) which makes it about 20 mins walk (which doesnt matter as you hire bikes for day to explore)Room was secure and fan was plenty for the time we were there. Must do is tubing (even if not a drinker, so beautiful scenery) an blue lagoon.
