Plenty of free amenities and a generally comfortable atmosphere.

Brilliant hostel!!Probably go as far to say it's one of the best I've ever stayed in! Staff are really friendly and make you feel at home. Also the amenities are great! Free breakfast, soup and bread for dinner, decent sized pool, hot tub, sauna, beach volleyball, hammocks, games etc! Definitely stay here if you are in Nelson!

I would have loved to stay longer and I'm sure to return in the next couple of year or so. The staff were as friendly as you can get, very very helpful. Having a swimming pool, spa and sauna was something different. I've seen swimming pools at backpacker accommodation before but sauna and spa, and for no additional cost, superb. There could perhaps be just a few more toilets and shower facilities but that's about all the improvements it would need.

Really cool hostel with a nice social feel. Free breakfast, soup and wifi was a nice touch. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I'd definitely stay there again!

Awesome! Such a great hostel. The best facilities that I have seen in any backpackers. Having the swimming pool in such hot weather is a real bonus and you get a free packet of noodles when you check in!!!!!!!!!!

Too many people squeezed into the space. Good that they had a secondary kitchen. Our double room barely had room to move around the bed and felt like it was a fire trap. It was a bit noisy for us - would not want to be their neighbors. I'm sure the younger guests loved the atmosphere including the pool. Not enough shower and bathroom facilities to accomodate all the guests.

Didn't enjoy my stay, but good for those who are looking to party by the pool. Its also a long way into the heart of Nelson

We were very disappointed in our stay. This hostel felt like we were staying in a facility which encouraged loud, obnoxious behavior, excessive alcohol consumption, and felt overall dirty & tacky. After 9 PM the kitchen area became the social center, and the area was packed full of young loud drinkers consuming alcohol. The kitchen was filthy, with dirty dishes everywhere. Sometime after 10, because of lax security, a homeless man wandered in the door. Do yourself a favor and stay at Tasman.

This is definitely a party hostel (and it\'s definitely the closest to jersey shore out of all of the hostels I\'ve been to) so if you\'re looking for a quiet place to relax after a long day of tramping, this is probably not the place for you. It\'s a very lively place with excellent facilities, including a pool and volley-ball court and two kitchens and a lot of space to hang out and meet other travelers. The free soup in the evenings and free breakfast in the morning were a big plus.

Nice place, but it's a party place and a car is useful here. Though they provide pickups. Free breakfast is basic but better than nothing. We were in a room in the back and it was noisy all night long on the premises. So when you want to sleep it may be difficult here.

I staid in Paradisa 1 night. I thought it was not a good hostel because it is very crowded and to much noice. The breakfast was really bad and the employes not personal at all.

its a huge hostel, quite far from city centre. swimming pool, spa, volleyball court, kitchen and tv room are nice, but the character gets a bit lost in the seize. staff was friendly and helpful. free soup =nice offer but needed some spices ;)

Great hostel. Lovely outside areas! The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfy. Helpful staff who go out their way to exceed what you would expect from a hostel- free wifi, free soup, free breakfast.
