Nice and cheap place, with a very good location. English speaking staff that were helpful but not very friendly. Ok breakfast and very good kitchen!

Thye Paraty Hotel isn't really a hostel as it's mainly a hotel with a few 4 bed rooms. The staff blatantly haven't got a clue - they'd double booked my bed when I arrived and threw someobody elses stuff off the bed to put me in it - without even changing the sheets! (I did eventually get another bed!) On the upside as it isn't a proper hostel there are more showers to go round than usual and these were kept clean. The staff were also really unfriendly.

Paraty Hotel is a good place to stay for a few nights if on a budget, very cheap, facilities are ok.... the father and son that run the place are both painful to deal with. the son inparticular. rude to everyone, never cracks a smile, def in the wrong bussiness

The hostel/hotel doesn`t have common hostel feel, or much character, but the location is fantastic (on the main street just outside the old town), the price was great and the room (we had a double) was clean, comfortable and had a fan which was very much needed

A good enough hostel for a short stay in Paraty. Rooms are basic but clean. Be warned, most dont have air con and it can get pretty hot with only a fan to cool you down....

Old english dude and son were pretty rubbish, they were obviously to busy to take care of there guests... a tour company, internet house, and hostel was too much work for them this made the hostel smelly dirty and not very nice looking this made them stressed which made them dicks ... it says its a hotel? but i've seen refugee camps better than this.. its a very poor hostel...we even had our room double booked so our room was not en suit. they did give us a 3£ discount...nice

The people working at hostel were totally unfriendly. I did not receive a single kind word let alone a smile. The people didn't really explain how anything worked at the hostel, just showed to our room. One of the worst things about the hostel still was that they have no lockers. Not in the rooms nor in common space. The rooms can be locked, but it still doesn't feel all too safe. Also there's no safe storage for luggage if you have to leave them there.

Breakfast was great. But besides I have never slept in a such an uncharming place. And - over the Christmas season - terribly expensive.
