Less positive: Security lock on door tended not to be entirely shut, so for anyone keen enough it could have been an easy job entering the room. Especially when you're having all kinds of people at the first floor. No hangers in the shower room to put your stuff, just a notice. Positive: Those working there are polite, wash every day and let you borrow things if necessary. Think they'll might do your laundry if you ask them. Price 120-150 HK$ pr night. Comfy beds! Location: Indian district

Inside chungking mansions which is like an Indian district, price is steep but that's HK. location is good. room was very small but had privacy. Service good. Only bad thing really is the people trying to sell you things on the street outside, including drugs and cheap suits.

The toilet/shower was virtually unenterable due to the lack of space. Could not take a shower due to the lack of room. Overall, space was very squeezed. On the positive side, I can only say that we could sleep and rest in a secure environment. The staff were helpful to the extent possible.

This is actually one of 5 guest houses run by the same Sikh family, and I can only assume they share the same bedrooms. The location and character of the place can be a little depressing- tiny rooms and an essentially useless elevator, meaning that the staircase is your only option most of the time. It's essentially a place to lay down your head and nothing more.

Although the place was a bargain, as far as Hong Kong hotels are concerned, I have never been in such a small room before. You could literally touch both walls the width of the room with outstretched arms. The twin size bed touched three of the walls and took up virtually all of the room. Due to its location in the Chungking Mansions, the stench of curry permeated the room. It's hard to argue with the price/location, however, if you can afford it, I'd avoid the Chungking mansions altogether.

very small rooms, chungking mansions is not a nice place to stay overnight, but the location is great, within 5 minutes walk to Hong Kong harbour.

Found it a bit odd that both times I used reception (to check in and check out), I went there after 8am and to find the place in darkness with reception guy lying asleep behind the desk and had to wake him up. Not very welcoming! Not the best place I've stayed at but very good location

I would like to mention to all travellers that the booking charge is 10% of your total cost. When you book a room it is not clear and you think that you have paid 10% and you will pay the 90% balance when you check in, not true. This is stealing money. The location was very poor.

If I remember right, Paris Guesthouse, Germany Hostel, City Hostel, and Singh Guesthouse are all the same place. Nothing wrong with that. It's just a little weird and makes me wonder why the owner decided to do that.

Pretty standard for the Chunking Mansion. Ceiling fan in the room squeaked so loud during the night we both had the same dream of being chased by a mob of angry rat people.

The location was very good and the stuff was nice and helpful. The room was very, very small and always with a wet floor because of the bathrooms inside the room. The shower was very strange, above the toilet and there was no place to hang your clothers in order not to get them wet.

Affordable accomodations in a reat location in Hong Kong. Very clean well run hostel. Staff, "Ricky very helpful and honest". Theses people went out of their way to help make my stay the very best they could. Note: building has first 2 floors of retail, a little crazy and shabby, but in no way do these areas reflect upon the rooms they rent out. First impressions of building are not good, do not let this chase you away. The rooms they have to offer are a great find!

Great service, was pleased with my stay here, very convenient had my needs covered. Staff very helpful and friendly. For a stay for a few days for just one person it's highly recommended. Anything to recommend or add, maybe lockers for keeping stuff secure, but they may already have this and I wasn't told and I didn't ask if they had any lockers anyway so my fault.
