The staff at Paris Guesthouse are great - very accommodating. I've been going to HK for years, and stayed here each time. A simple, quiet, clean, safe place to crash when you're not out in the city. The 'Chungking Mansions' notoriety is undeserved - the water is hot; the sheets are clean; AC works great; CCTV cameras, door codes, and 24-hour staff make it completely safe; unbeatable location.

Except for the people bugging you to offer accommodation at the entrance of Chungking Mansion upon your arrival, our stay in Paris Guest House was a good experience. The location is very convenient, near the MTR station, bus stops and shopping areas. The staff at the Paris Guest House were very helpful and polite especially Amman. The room where we stayed although very small was comfortable but i recommend that they check the airconditioning unit since it was not working throughout our stay.

Although i have been in other hostels in HK and i know that you need to pay to have a decent accommodation, I found this hostel more uncomfortable than others. Theres only one bathroom for 4 rooms and not even an accessible sink to wash you face and a washing machine throwing water on the floor whe you are supposed to stand to take a shower. The room was ok, though, not much space as usual in HK, but with a big window and fresh painted walls.

The Guest house is very neat and clean. The Boss is very gentle man and the staff is very very cooperative. The location is good and all the places are very convenient to travel as all types of mode of transport is available. The building is also having all type of foods so gives an extra edge.

Rooms are more like prison cells than hotel rooms. You hear every noise from the corridors. You have to queue fir the elevator... Don't even think of emergency evacuations. This is absolutely no frills.

The Paris Guesthouse is actually quite nice from the lobby. The problem with me was that I never got to actually sleep in any of the rooms. I was there for two days and each day the management moved me to a different guesthouse. Do not stay in any guesthouse in Chung King Mansions, it is not worth the headache.

As a first stopping point in Kowloon (Hong Kong) this is a good hostel. Outside on the street you'll find Asian men offering you accomodation....ignore them. Inside the guards in Chungking mansions will direct you th the right lift - elevator. This hostel is a little worse for wear, but it feels welcoming, it has good wifi, friendly staff, likeminded travellers (one hopes) and is good overall. The mixed and single rooms are well sized and well equiped.

The staff was this place\'s saving grace. The Paris Guesthouse is in the Chungking Mansions which, unbeknownst to us, is infamous in all Hong Kong as a haven for drug dealers, thieves and other unsavory characters. Sleezy guys hang out in the hallways and bug you to buy fake Rolexes and hash every time you walk by. It was very seedy. But, the staff was friendly, helpful and awesome. So, at least that.

This is a rating for the DORMS at Paris Guest house, not the private rooms. The pictures show a nice, clean dorm, but when we got there we got put into what looked like an unfinished basement with boxes stacked against the walls. There was literally one toilet and one shower for 16 beds. The mattresses were of good quality and they did provide free tea/coffee which was good, but overall I felt like I was given the bait and switch.

Less positive: Security lock on door tended not to be entirely shut, so for anyone keen enough it could have been an easy job entering the room. Especially when you're having all kinds of people at the first floor. No hangers in the shower room to put your stuff, just a notice. Positive: Those working there are polite, wash every day and let you borrow things if necessary. Think they'll might do your laundry if you ask them. Price 120-150 HK$ pr night. Comfy beds! Location: Indian district

Inside chungking mansions which is like an Indian district, price is steep but that's HK. location is good. room was very small but had privacy. Service good. Only bad thing really is the people trying to sell you things on the street outside, including drugs and cheap suits.
