The staff was extremely helpful and available late hours. Our luggage was lost on the flight in, and the staff was incredibly helpful! Thank you again!! Fun atmosphere, nice pool, nice free breakfast...

great stuff guys. booked a tour, got the free pickup, scored a free ride to mossman gorge with my roomies. grabbed the cheapo burger on night one, fish and chips on night two and love the roo bake night three. can't ask for more really. keep it up parrotfish!

On arrival I was assisted by the very able boss of the hostel, but the sheer number of inept staff present during my stay was too much to take. They were unable to answer almost all the questions I had and acted as if I'd disrupted them when I asked. Reception also closed early the night of my departure so I couldn't collect my key deposit money. The 'on-duty' and 'off-duty' staff spent most of their time sat in a group acting as if they owned the place.

great value for time and money. lots of chillout space, no pressure from staff to spend money. thought lockers in the rooms would be cool but the reception were happy to hold my laptop and passport. tried the kangaroo bake in the bistro - WOW! the weather is crazy up here with super hot, suer wet conditions - swimming in the pool in the rain was just the thing. will try and come back before i leave oz.

Great location, close to shops, beach, marina - everything. Mick was very helpful with trip and excursion arrangements; although other staff not as knowledgeable. Great to have free breakfast and WiFi. Security would be my only concern - no locking cupboards in the rooms. Other than that, great stay and would definitely recommend.

The location was excellent. The free breakfast was a nice touch and really makes travelling a lot easier. The access to the beach, the markets and marina is all you could ask for. Whilst I didn't get to use the bikes knowing they were there as another way to explore the area was handy.

Loved the stay here and really great bang for your buck, free wifi was great and fast. Happy hour and on-site restaurant and bar were also a big plus. Rooms could use a little facelift but staff was very accommodating overall.

Great place -- cool common places to hang out in, and has a nice quiet hours policy. Made for a fun place to hang out in, and a good place to get a great night's sleep!

had read some not so hot reviews about this place but good things from other travelers. decided to chance it with a net special and free transfer. very glad i did. i've stayed in heaps of hostels but this is one of the nicer ones. really relaxed place - lots of free stuff. close to town. you can't beat this kind of deal if you are a budget traveler.

Staff were a little arrogant - announcing throughout building there was "$1 beer" but only had 4 bottles for sale. Tiny 'portions' / rations of breakfast - certainly not worthy of promoting "free breakfast" to guests. Rooms were bare and 'cold'
