Sleep on a boat is the best experience that a man must do. Lucas, the owner, is legendary and his advice has been crucial. Thank you I LOVE AMSTERDAM!
The shower only had burning hot water and the double bed was really a double + another bed on top (its more like a triple room), so you couldn't sit up properly. But the breakfast was really good.
It was amazing to stay on a boat in the heart of Amsterdam! Who would not like to have ducks when opening their window... and a view on the impressive Nemo building and boats? The value is great for what you get. Don't expect massive rooms (it's a boat), but a great welcoming by the owners (thanks a lot Lukas :) ) and a great breakfast too!
There is no kitchen or anything for guests. Ambience is non-existent. Cute concept though. Oh, and the entrance is not clearly marked on pier 4. Other accommodation boats have signed taped on telling people where to go, this doesn't.
It was a very nice boat-hotel. It was clean and staff were very friendly. Obviously the cabin and bed are small, but you're sleeping in a boat! We had no problem because we're not too tall but I don't know how Dutch and German people can manage to sleep. I would have appreciated to have a towel and at least some soap or shower gel in the bathroom.
The ship is very nice and the staff is nice too. The cabins are not so spacious, but they are ok. It is nice for the adventurous people. Overall it was nice.
A fantastic stay at Anna Maria 4! Easy to locate, friendly staff who would go out of their way to provide great service, a charming boat with high cleanliness and comfort (unless you are taller than 2 metres - the bunk beds are not 2 m. wide)! We loved staying here!
My friend and I loved the night we stayed on the Anna Maria IV. Thank you for welcoming us after midnight. The setup in the twin bed room is perfect for two travellers with backpacks. The breakfast was delicious. I wish I spoke dutch and could thank you even more.
The owners of the ship are very pleasent and give you nice information about amsterdam soon.
It's a ship's cabin. The room is tiny (I think something like 1.7x2.5 m). It's in the city center, 5 min walk from the train central station. It's humid and the ensuite toilets are so small as to be difficult to use. Cheap
It was a good wee boat, but we asked for a double bed and got given 2 small single beds in bunk beds which was hard to move about in. But overall it was a nice clean place to stay. I recommend getting the double bed room but.

Excellent hostel not too far from the city centre proper, especially on a bike. Lucas is the hostel's greatest asset, makes you feel very welcome and at home. Being a ship the rooms are slightly cramped, but not uncomfortable. Highly enjoyable!
Very nice stay thanks to Lucas and Rita, the owners of Anna Maria! lovely dutch breakfast in the morning, although it's only served from 9 to 10 which is a bit short. Location is great, 10min from the Central Station and you can easily walk to Amsterdam's main attractions!
THis was a good experience! The staff was really nice and helpful! The rooms are really small 'cause its a cabin on a boat but it was alright. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was ok. It was hard to find at first but you can just ask the locals how to get to Oosterdok area. And its a 7-10 minute walk from the central station, so it's quite accessible by bus or tram.
We were told we were booking a double bed but arrived to find a bunk instead, which wasn't ideal but worked. It would have been nice to know up front, though. Thankfully the owner was incredibly nice and accommodating so that helped. Rooms are TINY so don't pack too much and be prepared to get cozy.
sleeping bunks were barge type - not too much room for me as I have long legs, but overall it was an interesting change of stay
nice place, quiet. Rooms are very small! (you´re on a boat - no surprise)
A great hostel when visiting Amsterdam and not planning to spend a lot of time at your hostel (Actually, why should you?) Although the cabins are quite small (especially those with common shower) the hospitality of the host, and the great breakfast make up for everything. One advice: do not take cabin 10 (by far the smallest one) if you are with the two of you.
