Really nice staff and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is also quite nice. Cabins a quite small but clean and practical, it's completely fine for a short stay . A bit expensive, but, it's Amsterdam ... !

First of all, sleeping in the ship was the coolest experience we had during our whole trip. They wrote they had wifi but actually it was not their own but the next ship's so the signal was poor. We had to go to public library which was nearby to get decent wifi. Other than that it was really cool.

The hostel is Ok, even if the rooms are really small they are comfortable and it is a funny experience to be hosted inside a ship! Only one tip for those going to the Avanti: when paying ask for a ticket because in my case, after coming back home, I received an e-mail from the hostel asking me to pay!! But I had payed upon arrival! Even though the problem was solved immediately, it is not cool at all to be treated as a debt-holder! But in general, I recommend the hostel for a quite stay in Ams!!

Great experience to stay on a houseboat but the rooms are extremely small and hard to maneuver. The staff is great - very friendly and helpful and the overall stay was enjoyable. Quaint and nice, you get what you expect.

The Avanti ship is a great accommodation option in Amsterdam. My girlfriend and I had a comfortable stay there during a whole weekend, despite of the typical bad weather on December. The kitchen is well equipped, toilets are decent and bedrooms are clean, albeit very small. I would not recommend staying there if you are taller than 1,85cm.

The inclusion of WiFi on the boat has perfected the Avanti as I believe this was the only thing missing. The code to access it may provide the user with a bit of a fun task when attempting to replicate it...especially so after one or two beers or of course, smokes. The self service beer fridge is also a fantastic idea!

Perfect place to get away from the madness, but not too far. Boats by their nature are a bit crampy. Still, lovely space to hang out in the common room. Jesse is a sweet guy, easy to like. Nice breakfast, very good vibes. A bit of noise from other residents, but not a crazy party by any stretch.

Fantastic. The place is amazing. Amsterdam is the most beaultifull city in the world. And the ship is very cool. Jesse, the captain, are a real nice guy, and they have a nice breakfast. There are games like chess, movies and books to read in the living room. So, you don't need to stay in the tiny rooms. Use just to sleep. And, well, you are in a boat! And in Amsterdam. Amazing!

The boat was great but the wall above our top bunk had a lot of condensation on it and would sweat onto the mattress which by the end of our 3 day stay was soaked. Luckily my boyfriend and I planned on sharing a bunk which is totally do-able and we are not small people by any means (he's 6foot5 and i'm 5foot8) I did get bit by something while taking a nap that gave me a really itchy welt on my ankle but bugs are bugs and you'll find them anywhere and everywhere. Avanti had a great breakfast!

Good hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly. Only negative was the small rooms - 2 people couldn't stand up in a room at the same time.

Brilliant place to stay - room was literally the smallest place i have ever been in but the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot and fairly powerful. For a short stay, given the price and location, there is nowhere better in amsterdam!! The host, Jesse, is the friendliest most helpful geordie in the whole of the netherlands...very knowledgeable and accommodating (i have never met a man more well-informed on the topic of dutch waffles!!)

Great experience to sleep on a boat, rooms are quite small but its definitely worthy, staff is great. Locate the hostel before walking out of the train station as it is right in the back of the station. It enhaced a great amsterdam experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the ship. It is quite small as previously noted, however we found it to be a great location and a place to sleep, which is all we wanted. We only stayed on the ship for a couple of days which we thought was a good amount of time. We also traveled light, making it easy to stay in the rooms. Everything was clean, except the shower water drained very slowly, leaving your feet in a small pool of water. Besides this, we left pretty satisfied.
