The bathrooms were no so clean and were few for the amount of people in the hostel. The location is excellent.

Everybody was really nice. Great breakfast. Great gathering places. But the wifi didn´t work, and the private bed was 26,000 pesos a night and didn`t have a window, and was located directly next to the door bell. Not a good idea. One of the worst rooms ever.

perfect. Slight resistance with warmth in the showers on occasion? But would stay there anytime again because of the friendly, helpful staff...

The manager Jorge is a legend! Apart from being incredibly courteous, helpful & well informed he made New Years in Valpo epic for the whole hostel. Drinks and an amazing 3 course dinner on the house and then he and 3 staff members accompanied a large group of very drunk backpackers to the best places around town (incld the legendary fireworks) and managed to not lose anyone in the group! Fantastic hostel- great brekky, very clean, super location. great Wifi, brilliant staff HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

They should tell you how to use the showers properly so you can have a hot shower instead of a cold one. Is something with waterpresure. I managed to work it out and got hot showers.

Super friendly and helpful staff who spoke English Nice area out back to meet other travellers Lounge style area with plenty of dvd's to watch on wide screen television Breakfast was tasty and sufficient Only 3 showers to share amongst 3 dorms & 2 private rooms. No separate toilets. There were a lot of frustrated people banging on doors. Internet went down for a day or so.

Great breakfast. Don't book through hostelworld if you want to get the 10% off with your HI card.

I disagree with the good ratings so far, there must be better options in Valparaiso. Showers are awful, you only get a minute of hot water before it goes cold. Bathrooms are dirty overall. Also, security-wise, most hostels are staffed 24 hrs, but here you need a key after midnight. The owner is a nice, but the girl work most of the time was new and wasn't too helpful. On the positives, it is located in a cool area of town (restaurant called El Desayunador was great). Good breakfast too.

We loved PataPata Hostel, except it was a slight hassle to get there. Once we made it, they had great recommendations for food, fun and activities. We had the BEST meals in Valparaiso, all thanks to PataPata. Also, breakfast was wonderful!

Didn't have hot water once during my three day stay and the staff had a problem with my booking and so sent me away the first night, but they were really lovely people and gave me a take-away breakfast for an early bus ride on my last day. It's a really good hostel with a good communal area and a nice feel. Excellent location too, close to a vegetarian restaurant, minimarket and other essentials.

I stayed in this hostel for 2 nights, it was really good. I arrived after a 10 hours drive and my bed wasnt ready but I could used the shower and chill a bit everywhere in the hostel. The building is very good, they have got a great TV screen with looooooooads of DVD. you can used 2 computers to get on the internet for free. They have got a BBQ, just ask them if you can use it. Really great place with the best breakfast ever (egg, salad fruit, 3 kind of toasts, juice and tea). I want to go back!

Situated right on Cerro Allegre amidst colorful houses, with very friendly staff; nice breakfast included. I just happened to be in a rather dark dormitory, and the ground level bathroom would need an urgent clean up and make over. Otherwise surely recommandable.
